Thai Nguyen wants to become the leading blockchain training center in Vietnam

On March 30, the Information and Communications Technology University (ICTU), under Thai Nguyen University, signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with the OKX blockchain platform. This agreement is part of the implementation of the national strategy on the application and development of blockchain technology until 2025, with a vision to 2030 according to Decision 1236 of the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Dung said that blockchain technology is a new structure and method of organization that can help solve modern problems in society. He said that the coordination between training institutions and businesses will help shorten the process of applying technology into practice.

“Enterprises will have practical problems, schools will train the next generation of human resources. Connecting the two sides will help future human resources immediately access practical problems and new technologies,” Mr. Dung emphasized.

According to the provincial leader, the sharing and cooperation between the two sides is expected to create a foundation for Thai Nguyen to take the lead in the development trend of blockchain technology, aiming to become the leading training center in this field in Vietnam. He said that this is an important step in the process of building a technology community in general in the locality as well as in the northern midland and mountainous region.

Cooperation between ICTU and international businesses will focus on three main directions: integrating blockchain teaching into training programs, including the financial technology (fintech) major; building a blockchain technology laboratory at ICTU and testing blockchain applications in certificate management; forming a student community to research and apply this technology.

ICTU Rector, Associate Professor Dr. Phung Trung Nghia, assessed that blockchain is a technology field that brings transparency, safety and efficiency in financial transactions and data management. According to him, training high-quality human resources in this field plays an important role in the ability to access and effectively apply technology in Vietnam.

Mr. Nghia also said that the strategic cooperation between the school and international partners will open up opportunities to access advanced technological resources and knowledge, contributing to improving the quality of training and research in the field of information technology.
