Quang Ninh: promoting tourism development in Bai Tu Long Bay

Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that Bai Tu Long Bay has a very favorable location, about 100 km from Mong Cai international border gate and adjacent to the world natural wonder Ha Long Bay; famous for its system of rocky islands, majestic caves, and beautiful and pristine beaches.

Bai Tu Long National Park is located in Bai Tu Long Bay complex with a total area of ​​15,783 hectares, of which 6,125 hectares is the area of ​​the floating island and 9,658 hectares is the sea surface area.

In terms of landscape value, Bai Tu Long Bay is suitable for year-round tourism development with many attractive types of tourism such as: sightseeing, swimming, boating, parasailing, recreational fishing, and various types of eco-tourism....

Bai Tu Long is different from Ha Long Bay because it has a system of inhabited islands, where visitors can experience the lives of the people. Some islands have beautiful beaches, many developed coral reefs, and have the potential to build nature reserves and ecological parks to serve tourism and resort development. Bai Tu Long is also the gateway to connect with Co To, the island routes of Da Dung (Dam Ha); Cai Chien (Hai Ha), Vinh Trung, Vinh Thuc, Tra Co (Mong Cai) ...

Immediately after the announcement ceremony of the opening of Bai Tu Long Bay tourism itineraries, Ao Tien International Passenger Port will have tourist boats serving visitors to Bai Tu Long Bay every day. On the occasion of the April 30 and May 1 holidays, new tourist boats and dinner services on board will be added. In 2025, overnight anchorages will be completed to develop overnight boat products on Bai Tu Long Bay.

The conference on tourism development in Bai Tu Long Bay aims to objectively and comprehensively assess the tourism development situation in Bai Tu Long Bay, Quang Ninh, the potentials, opportunities, challenges, and limitations in the present and the coming years.

On that basis, key solutions are proposed to create breakthroughs in developing tourism in Bai Tu Long Bay in the following areas: improving the effectiveness of State management in the tourism sector; developing new tourism products; promoting investment attraction for tourism development in the localities of Van Don and Co To; improving the quality of tourism services; promoting and advertising to attract tourists; digital transformation in the tourism sector.

The conference also aims to receive comments, recommendations, proposals, initiatives, good and effective practices from organizations, businesses, experts and investors related to the tourism sector.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Truong Manh Hung, Secretary of Van Don District Party Committee, emphasized the need for cooperation between the government and businesses to fully exploit the tourism potential of Bai Tu Long Bay. The government committed to supporting businesses in removing obstacles in administrative procedures, creating the best conditions for sustainable tourism development.

After more than 3 hours of discussion, the Conference attracted many contributions from experts, businesses and investors. The proposed solutions will be an important premise to promote Bai Tu Long Bay tourism to develop strongly in the coming time, contributing to making Quang Ninh become the leading tourist center of the country.
