Instagram users can watch short videos at double speed

Photo and video sharing social network Instagram has just rolled out a new update for Reels, allowing users to quickly watch short videos at double speed. Reels is a feature that allows users to create short videos.

Users simply press and hold on the right or left edge of the screen to play the video at double speed. When they release their finger, the video will automatically return to normal speed.

Some users had experienced the feature during its testing phase, but it was later removed from their accounts. But Instagram representatives have now confirmed that the feature is being rolled out to all users.

According to Instagram, this is one of the most requested features by users. While Reels videos are no longer limited to 15 seconds in length, being able to fast forward has become a necessity.

Currently, Reels allows videos up to 3 minutes long, and there are signs that Instagram may support videos up to 10 minutes long in the future.

The issue also shows that Instagram is continuing to study the experiences from short video sharing platform TikTok, which allows users to post videos up to 10 minutes and even 1 hour long.

TikTok has also had a feature for watching videos at double speed for a long time, which is important as video lengths continue to increase. Adding a fast-forward feature is considered necessary as users want to save time and increase control over their experience when using the platform./.
