On July 31, 2023, Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Joint Venture (HTV) officially distributed the Ioniq 5 electric car model manufactured in Vietnam.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a bold futuristic design. The highlight of Ioniq 5 is the Parametric Pixel design with pixel-style front and rear lights with light squares. These details appear on most of the car's lighting areas: headlights, taillights, charging power level indicator lights, etc.
The overall dimensions of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 with the parameters Length x Width x Height are 4,635 x 1,890 x 1,650 (mm) respectively, with ground clearance reaching 160mm.
Ioniq 5 is equipped with a pair of 12.3-inch screens connected together: information touch screen & entertainment screen, multi-function setup. The car is equipped with a high-end Bose sound system and entertainment system standards such as Android Auto/Apple Carplay along with a 360-degree camera.
In addition, the car uses an electronic gear lever integrated into the steering wheel cluster, thereby connecting the space between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat. The car's seats, headliners, door trims, floors and armrests are all made from recycled materials including recycled PET bottles, plant-based fibers and natural wool. The interior leather has been ecologically treated, and the dashboard, switches, steering wheel and doors use a special bio-based paint extracted from plants.
The Ioniq 5 has a trunk capacity of up to 531 liters and if the second row of seats is folded down, the rear compartment capacity can be up to 1,600 liters. In addition, other standard functions such as automatic air conditioning, automatic lights, smart key start, panoramic winch windows, 3-mode drive-mode driver assistance system, etc.
Ioniq 5 is built on Hyundai's E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform). Ioniq 5 is a pure electric BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) with a battery system that meets the most advanced 400V/800V dual-electric structure, allowing compatibility with a 350kW DC fast charger with a charging speed of 10 - 80% in just 18 minutes and 56 minutes with a 50kW charging station to charge from 20 - 80%. If using an AC charger with a capacity of 7.7 - 10.9 kW, it only takes about 6 ~ 9 hours to fully charge 100%.
In Vietnam, the car will be distributed in 2 versions including Exclusive equipped with a 58 kWh battery pack combined with a single electric motor on the rear axle with a maximum capacity of 170 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, for a maximum travel distance of 384 km per charge (WLTP standard). This version has 19-inch rims with 235/55 R19 tires. The selling price of this model will be 1.3 billion VND.
The higher-end version is the Prestige, which has a 72.6 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor on the rear axle with a maximum capacity of 217 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, for a maximum travel distance of 451km per full charge (WLTP standard). This version is equipped with 20-inch rims and Michelin Pilot Sport Ev tires sized 255/45 R20. The Prestige is priced at 1.43 billion VND.
