The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just directed aviation agencies, units and businesses to continue making efforts to ensure service quality.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, during the peak period of Lunar New Year 2025, especially in the days close to Lunar New Year 2025, the number of passengers at airports will increase sharply, putting great pressure on the aviation infrastructure system and passenger service quality.
Recognizing the special efforts of all agencies and units providing aviation services in arranging and allocating resources with the goal of best serving the air transport needs of passengers and ensuring aviation security and safety, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam assesses that flight delays and cancellations are unavoidable during peak times.
The punctuality rate of Vietnamese airlines is closely linked to the operational system at airports and greatly affects the quality of passenger service.
To improve service quality, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recommends that Vietnamese airlines and ground service companies improve the quality of flight schedule management, ensure compliance with confirmed slots according to regulations, and limit delays and cancellations due to subjective reasons.
At the same time, arrange for representatives and service staff to be present regularly to support and guide passengers at the check-in counter area, the aviation security screening area and the baggage claim area, quickly resolve passenger inquiries and complaints, and not disrupt security and order at the airport.
Airlines regularly coordinate with ground service units to evaluate and forecast production output to promptly plan and proactively serve flights, as well as fully perform obligations regarding non-refundable advance compensation and passenger services at airports when delays or cancellations occur.
Vietnam Airports Corporation and Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation are responsible for arranging maximum equipment and resources during the next peak period, optimizing flight operations capacity, especially at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai International Airports.
Strengthen coordination with airlines in air traffic control, rational and scientific parking areas to optimize time and increase exploitation capacity.
Airport authorities are required to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations on the performance of carrier obligations in cases where passengers are denied transportation, flights are canceled, or flights are delayed for a long time. Provide information and instructions for passengers traveling by air to ensure they stay on schedule.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam also requested that leaders of agencies, units and enterprises pay attention to ensuring working conditions and policies for employees, promptly discovering and praising good people and good deeds.
At the same time, encourage, reward and propose competent authorities to reward collectives and individuals with initiatives to improve work, resolve limitations, obstacles and difficulties in work, and achieve excellent results in performing assigned tasks.
At the same time, seriously correct signs of spirit and service attitude that violate standards, behavioral culture, regulations of agencies and enterprises, violations of work procedures and legal regulations; determined to absolutely ensure security and safety.
During the 4 days before Tet, just counting the 3 largest airports in Vietnam, air transport data achieved many positive results.
Tan Son Nhat International Airport reached 3.9 thousand take-offs and landings, nearly 592 thousand passengers and nearly 5.8 thousand tons of cargo (equivalent to an increase of 9.7% in take-offs and landings, an increase of 12.0% in passengers and an increase of 1.7% in cargo compared to the same period in 2024).
Noi Bai International Airport achieved more than 2.3 thousand take-offs and landings, approximately 385 thousand passengers and more than 8.7 thousand tons of cargo (equivalent to an increase of 10.9% in take-offs and landings, an increase of 18.5% in passengers and an increase of 15.3% in cargo compared to the same period in 2024).
Da Nang International Airport achieved 988 takeoffs and landings, more than 155,700 passengers and 217 tons of cargo (equivalent to an increase of 4.8% in takeoffs and landings, an increase of 14.7% in passengers and an increase of 3.5% in cargo compared to the same period in 2024.
