Chu Lai Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company Limited: Towards developing a sustainable, ecological industrial park

Attracting huge FDI capital flows

CIZIDCO is a state-owned enterprise assigned by Quang Nam province to invest and develop 3 large industrial parks (IPs), with a scale of 800 hectares, including Bac Chu Lai IP, Tam Thang IP and Tam Thang expanded IP. The company is attracting investment in the manufacturing industry of machinery, equipment, mechanics; electrical and electronic components and equipment; textile and garment industry (without dyeing stage); wood processing projects, glass, ceramics, construction materials production; agricultural product processing projects; food and beverage processing projects, etc.

To date, CIZIDCO's industrial parks have attracted 56 domestic investment and foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered domestic capital of VND4,805.6 billion and a total FDI capital of about USD958.6 million.

Specifically, Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park, with a total area of ​​361.4 hectares, has attracted 32 projects (including 10 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 209.6 million USD and 22 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 4,449 billion VND), creating jobs for nearly 5,500 workers.

Tam Thang Industrial Park, with a total area of ​​197 hectares, has attracted 24 projects (20 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 749.01 million USD and 4 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 356.6 billion VND), with an occupancy rate of 71.7%.

Tam Thang Industrial Park Expansion Project, with a total area of ​​242 hectares, is urgently implementing infrastructure investment to soon hand over clean land to investors.

Mr. Le Ngoc Thuy said that in 2024, production and business activities of enterprises in industrial parks invested by CIZIDCO will face many difficulties, but are expected to still achieve and exceed the targets assigned by superiors.

Prioritize attracting “green” businesses

CIZIDCO leaders also said that as an enterprise investing in industrial park infrastructure, the Company is gradually building industrial parks towards green and environmentally friendly industry. This is a common trend for sustainable development, an important step towards building ecological industrial parks in line with the planning orientation of Quang Nam province.

In particular, Tam Thang Industrial Park is the first industrial park in the country to pioneer the project of a water reuse plant. Wastewater after being treated at the Tam Thang Industrial Park's centralized wastewater treatment plant is recirculated to factories in Tam Thang Industrial Park to serve production needs.

With specific solutions on environmental protection, Tam Thang Industrial Park was awarded the Certificate of Outstanding Industrial Park in 2022 and 2023 by the Business Forum Magazine (under the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - VCCI), CIZIDCO was honored in the Top 100 green and sustainable enterprises, and Tam Thang Industrial Park was listed in the Top 100 environmentally friendly green industrial parks at the "Green Economic Forum for a Sustainable Development Country in 2023" organized by the Vietnam Environmental Industry Association.

Mr. Le Ngoc Thuy said that in order to continue to maintain and promote this achievement, CIZIDCO is building the expanded Tam Thang Industrial Park (adjacent to Tam Thang Industrial Park) in the direction of developing a green industrial park and sustainable development. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to creating all favorable conditions and supporting investors; paying attention to training high-quality human resources, especially in the field of digital transformation, to ensure a strong connection between businesses and human resources, with the philosophy of "taking the success of investors as one's own success".

In addition to building environmentally friendly industrial park infrastructure, Mr. Thuy also affirmed: “We do not attract investment at all costs, but prioritize attracting projects with high economic value, environmentally friendly and using advanced technology. In addition, CIZIDCO focuses on attracting investment according to the direction of the leaders of Quang Nam province as well as flexibly applying regulations, mechanisms and policies for investors; prioritizing attracting key projects that have great influence on domestic and foreign investors”.

According to CIZIDCO leaders, despite the difficulties, investors still consider Quang Nam as one of the safe destinations, with a favorable geographical location, close to both seaports and international airports, promising to continue to attract projects with high economic value and environmental friendliness in the coming time.
