THACO proposes 4 new projects

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tue, General Director of THADICO, said that THACO is implementing many projects in Chu Lai with a total investment of 103,000 billion VND, with a vision to develop a new generation multi-industry technology ecosystem including: Automobile manufacturing and assembly center; Manufacturing and supporting industry center; Transportation and logistics center; Agricultural and forestry processing center; Urban area and social infrastructure; Trade - service center.

According to the report of THACO Group, this unit proposed to study and invest in 4 projects: Cua Lo channel project, the road connecting Viet - Han Industrial Park to Vo Chi Cong Street, Tam Hoa duty-free zone - port (797 ha), Tam Hoa - Tam Tien urban area (1,755 ha) (abbreviated as Cua Lo channel project), total investment of 7,200 billion VND; Chu Lai 01 urban area project (phase 1, 195 ha); Expanded automobile mechanical industrial park project (115 ha), total investment of 1,348 billion VND; Long Thanh Tay complex and resort project (32 ha).

Specifically, for the expanded automobile mechanical industrial park project with a total investment of VND 1,248 billion, THACO Group proposed that the Provincial People's Committee soon approve the 1/2000 scale zoning plan of Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park, and at the same time, adjust the Nui Thanh District Land Use Plan to 20230 and the Nui Thanh District Land Use Plan to 2025 to ensure sufficient allocation of industrial park land use quotas for the project.

On April 20, 2022, THACO sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee requesting approval of the investor's policy to study the Long Thanh Tay Complex, Tourism and Resort Project in Tam Hai Commune (Nui Thanh). To ensure safety during the construction and exploitation of the Luong Cua Lo route, THACO proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow this unit to study and invest in the Long Thanh Tay Resort Complex project with an area of ​​32 hectares.

Faced with land issues, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, pledged to hand over land for ongoing projects in March.

Mr. Tran Ba ​​Duong acknowledged that Chu Lai and Quang Nam province are converging many advantages, and will soon have rapid development. Therefore, if we invest in Cua Lo channel, a logistics center to transport goods by container in Chu Lai at the same price as the two ends of the country, many businesses will move to Chu Lai, to the Central region.

"It can be said that the project that changes, creates a breakthrough and develops Chu Lai is Cua Lo stream. We also see that this project is very large and difficult. In today's meeting, I hope that the Secretary and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee will consider this project as a key project of the province and the region. For THACO, this project is my personal passion project.

Any method of implementing this waterway project is fine. For THACO, I personally do not care about profit or loss. I would like to confirm that any method is fine, as long as it is done in accordance with the law," Mr. Duong shared, adding that THACO invested 60 million USD to build 2 large-capacity ships connecting Chu Lai with Shanghai (China) to European countries.

Removing obstacles, accompanying businesses

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung highly appreciated THACO's activeness in implementing and researching investment projects in Quang Nam in recent years. Mr. Le Van Dung said that THACO's projects are decisive for the province in its target of double-digit growth in the period of 2025-2030. In particular, if the Cua Lo channel and Chu Lai airport are implemented, Quang Nam will rise up, not only achieving double-digit growth but also developing much more strongly.

Quang Nam leaders are determined to accompany investors.

“The Provincial People's Committee and the provincial departments have been making efforts to accelerate the implementation of THACO's projects, especially site clearance, in compliance with the law but with a spirit of urgency. In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will take more drastic and stronger actions to promote the projects" - Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee pledged.

Quang Nam Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested agencies, units and localities to assign specific responsibilities, closely follow each project and each task, focus on listening to relevant parties to have timely opinions and instructions, especially for Nui Thanh locality.

“On the part of the Provincial Party Committee, we also clearly demonstrate our determination to accompany the investor THACO. In particular, we consider the Cua Lo - Container Center project and the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park project as key projects of the province, with regular steering committees to support. Quang Nam considers the development of THACO as the development of Quang Nam, hoping that THACO will develop further, become the leading crane, bringing Quang Nam in particular and Vietnam in general into the era of national development”, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

The Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee also assigned the Provincial People's Committee to regularly discuss with THACO to listen to and resolve arising issues and problems such as site clearance, approval of specific land prices, public land and some regional planning of the province. The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee will also be ready to accompany the Provincial People's Committee to focus on solving these issues.
