The solution to convert traditional industrial parks into ecological industrial parks, using renewable energy, protecting water resources, the environment, etc. is being researched and implemented by Binh Duong province with international cooperation.

On February 14, speaking at the launching workshop of the feasibility study project for an ecological industrial park held in Binh Duong province, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - said that Binh Duong supports attracting investment and converting traditional industrial parks into ecological industrial parks.
Eco-industrial park (EIP) is a new model of industrial park, aiming for high intellectual content, environmentally friendly, implemented according to the international framework of the World Bank (WB).
The feasibility study workshop on the eco-industrial park was organized by the World Bank in collaboration with Becamex IDC Corporation (under the People's Committee of Binh Duong province), departments, and the Management Board of industrial parks in Binh Duong province.
It is expected that many important industrial parks in Bau Bang area, Binh Duong province such as Bau Bang industrial park, Bau Bang expansion, Cay Truong... will be invested in according to the ecological industrial park model.
These are all large industrial parks, attracting investment with the participation of many foreign investors (FDI) and domestic enterprises.
Mr. Thanh said that Binh Duong has planned and oriented industrial parks that need to be selected for investment in the direction of sustainable development, bringing added value and higher competitiveness.

The research on ecological industrial parks will be coordinated by partners from Korea and the world, focusing on contents such as: assessing the current status of industrial parks and proposing appropriate conversion solutions, water reuse solutions to optimize water resources in production, providing sustainable energy such as solar energy, energy storage solutions...
The study also focuses on finding connectivity solutions to utilize and optimize the supply chain for businesses in industrial parks.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, proactively researching and implementing the ecological industrial park model opens up new prospects and directions in the context that this province is considered the leading "industrial park capital" in the country.
With about 30 industrial parks in operation, Binh Duong is about to launch new industrial parks such as science and technology industrial parks, mechanical engineering industrial parks, etc.
Eco-industrial park "anticipates" the highway
Several regional transport infrastructure projects such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, Ho Chi Minh City beltway 4 through Binh Duong... are being initiated, which will shorten the distance to new lands in the North of the province, where many new industrial parks will be developed.
Research on ecological industrial parks to "anticipate" the development of new industrial parks when highways are completed, as well as the factory relocation roadmap, is also being promoted by Binh Duong.
Some large factories such as the over 1 billion USD project of the Lego Group (Denmark) invested in the industrial park in Binh Duong also announced that they will use 100% renewable energy to protect the environment. Binh Duong is known as a successful model when attracting many "eagles" to nest, ranking in the "top 3" in the country (along with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi) in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).
