At the Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program held at the Opera House (Hanoi) on the evening of October 14, Thanh Hoa province had Dong Tien Agricultural Mechanization Service Cooperative (Dong Son) honored as a typical national cooperative in 2024.

Established in September 2012, in the field of production and consumption of vegetables, tubers, fruits and flowers, Dong Tien Agricultural Mechanization Service Cooperative initially had 7 members, with a charter capital of more than 1.2 billion VND. Up to now, after more than a decade of development, the Cooperative has attracted 21 members and increased its total charter capital to 5 billion VND.
To affirm the effectiveness in production and business, in 2018, the Cooperative built 11 greenhouses to produce various vegetables, tomatoes, melons, baby cucumbers, etc. Applying science and technology to build a value chain model for production and consumption of organic vegetables, tubers, fruits, and flowers. On average, the Cooperative has consumed 120 tons of vegetables and fruits to the market each year, mainly in Thanh Hoa, Hanoi and some neighboring provinces such as Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Nghe An, etc.
Queen melon product is recognized as 3-star OCOP product in 2020.
By 2019, the Cooperative expanded its production model by 4,500m2 with 4 greenhouses to produce organic vegetables, tubers and fruits and concentrated more than 30 hectares of rice production land in the locality to form a large-scale production area. In addition, the Cooperative has linked production and consumption of Kim Hoang Hau melon products with 5 Cooperatives in the province and established an enterprise to meet the needs of developing the production of vegetables, tubers and fruits according to organic standards. By 2020, the Cooperative's production area was certified to meet organic standards (issued by the TQC Quality Testing and Certification Center according to National Standard TCVN 11041-2:2017) and the Cooperative's subsidiary was certified with 3-star OCOP for Kim Hoang Hau melon and baby cucumber products.
By 2024, the Cooperative has affirmed its position in high-tech agricultural production by transferring science and technology, putting into production more than 2,000m2 of Phalaenopsis orchids; of which 500m2 are controlled to bloom on site to serve the upcoming Lunar New Year.
To serve local farmers as well as in and outside Thanh Hoa province, the cooperative has invested in 15 greenhouses to produce vegetables, tubers and fruits with an area of nearly 37,000m2 . At the same time, billions of VND have been invested to purchase 4 straw rollers, 1 combine harvester, 1 seedling sowing machine and 2 transplanters, 2 plows and build a system of warehouses and product display shops. The cooperative has been creating regular jobs for 10 workers and dozens of seasonal workers with an average salary of 5.5 million VND/person/month.
In 2024, the cooperative will invest in about 2,000 m2 of net house to produce Phalaenopsis orchids.
The cooperative's revenue in 2023 is 13 billion VND, profit after deducting expenses is 2 billion VND. In 2024, estimated revenue is 15.05 billion, profit is 2.35 billion VND.
With its efforts and achievements, Dong Tien Agricultural Mechanization Service Cooperative has received a Certificate of Recognition from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; 3 Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; 5 Certificates of Merit from Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Alliance and many Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Dong Son District People's Committee, Chairman of Dong Tien Commune People's Committee...
Also at the Program, farmer Nguyen Thi Bien, Quang Trung village, Hoang Thanh commune (Hoang Hoa) was also honored as one of 63 outstanding farmers nationwide in 2024.
