Cooperation in sharing knowledge in vaccine production in Vietnam

(Chinhphu.vn) - On March 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, Pfizer Vietnam Company Limited (Pfizer VN) and Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote knowledge sharing in vaccine production in Vietnam.

This partnership underscores the commitment of both parties to enhance the healthcare ecosystem in Vietnam, by leveraging their respective strengths and expertise.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives of the Ministry of Health and the US Consulate.

The main objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is to establish a framework for goodwill cooperation between Pfizer VN and VNVC to support VNVC in enhancing its capacity to establish a vaccine production facility.

The cooperation will focus on knowledge sharing and facilitating the development of joint capacity in vaccine production.

Through the partnership, Pfizer VN will organize knowledge sharing sessions, while VNVC seeks to promote the goal of establishing a modern vaccine production facility.

Mr. Ngo Chi Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VNVC, emphasized: "The cooperation and knowledge sharing with Pfizer marks an important step forward for VNVC and Vietnam in accessing the world's leading vaccine production knowledge. This will help support proactive solutions to protect public health against dangerous infectious diseases. The cooperation will open up opportunities for VNVC to learn from Pfizer's modern vaccine production expertise, thereby promoting the ability to produce high-quality vaccines with advanced technology. At the same time, it also allows VNVC to proactively supply vaccines to people, reduce dependence on imported products and reduce costs, helping people to more easily access high-quality vaccines."
