In particular, the group of immediate investment projects includes: expanding the Tan Tao - Cho Dem and Binh Thuan - Cho Dem branches to connect Ho Chi Minh City with the Western provinces via the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway. Both of these routes currently have a scale of 6 lanes and are proposed to be upgraded to 8 lanes, implemented in the period from now to 2027, with the Ministry of Transport as the managing agency.

For the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay route, Ho Chi Minh City wants to build an additional branch connecting Long Phuoc road with 2 lanes to connect from this highway to Thu Duc City, promoting economic and social development for the Eastern Creative City.

The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is expected to invest in an additional overpass at the QL50 intersection, and at the same time renovate the existing QL50 intersections, the Nguyen Van Tao - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection, and the Rung Sac intersection into grade-separated intersections.

Ring Road 3 also has a connecting project in the immediate investment group, which is to add an entrance/exit point to Ring Road 3 with Phuoc Thien Street (Long Binh Ward, Thu Duc City). The scale includes a roundabout to organize traffic in the U-turn area, turning left/right onto Ring Road 3; building an underpass on Phuoc Thien Street with a scale of 4 lanes for 2-way traffic.

The total investment capital for this group of projects is 12,289 billion VND.

The group of research projects preparing for investment after completing the planning is estimated to need a total capital of 44,251 billion VND, including: 4 projects connecting Ring Road 3; the road connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway to Go Dua - Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2; extending Long Phuoc Road connecting from Long Thuan Road to the exit/entrance of Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway; and the project connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway to Vuon Lai - Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 intersection.

All 7 of these projects are proposed to be implemented using local budgets, with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee as the managing agency, and to be implemented from now until 2030.

In addition, the Cat Lai - Phu Huu inter-port route intersection connecting Ring Road 3 and Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway will also be considered in the near future.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport believes that the review of connections with expressways is consistent with the planning of development orientations for urban areas, industrial parks, export processing zones, high-tech zones, tourist areas, new urban areas, seaports, airports, and international border gates.
