More than 400 members and youth of Huong Hoa participated in a mock trial to promote drug prevention.

This afternoon, December 13, at Huong Phung High School, Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union organized a mock trial to disseminate knowledge on crime prevention and drug abuse to more than 400 union members, youth, and students in Huong Hoa district.

The content of the mock trial is built on the basis of a criminal case on the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking" stipulated in Clause 1, Article 251 of the Penal Code, recreated in a dramatic form close to reality, involving a minor who committed the crime.

The mock trial took place with full composition, order, and procedures for first-instance criminal trials according to regulations; analyzed the causes and consequences of the defendants' violations of the law to make a decision on strict punishment.

Nowadays, drug abuse is becoming more and more complicated and is increasingly penetrating into schools. Therefore, organizing a mock trial is not only a creative legal education activity to raise legal awareness but also helps students develop the necessary skills to repel drug abuse in schools.

Through reenacting a mock trial, young people will better understand the legal process, the role of judicial agencies and the meaning of justice in life. This is also an opportunity for young people to practice critical thinking and debating skills.
