Today Ho Chi Minh City announced the 10th grade benchmark scores.

On the morning of July 7, responding to VTC News, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed that today, the Department will announce the benchmark scores for grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year, 3 days earlier than expected.

According to Mr. Minh, the announcement of the 10th grade entrance exam scores in Ho Chi Minh City 3 days earlier than expected will help reduce the anxiety of nearly 90,000 candidates and their parents.

Mr. Minh added that after the Department announces the admission scores for grade 10, students will compare them with their exam scores and their grade 10 admission wishes. From there, candidates will know whether they are admitted to grade 10 according to their first, second or third choice.

Students are not allowed to change their wishes after receiving the 10th grade entrance exam results (they are not allowed to transfer schools after being admitted to 10th grade).

Grade 10 benchmark scores in Ho Chi Minh City announced 3 days earlier than expected.

"The Department as well as high schools do not accept applications nor process requests to change wishes. High schools only accept applications from candidates on their list of admitted students to grade 10 ," Mr. Minh emphasized.

This year, the 10th grade entrance exam scores in Ho Chi Minh City are higher than last year. Of which, about 32% of the foreign language test scores were excellent (8 points or higher). This is also the subject with the highest number of candidates scoring 8 points or higher in this year's exam. The number of candidates scoring 10 points increased compared to last year, reaching about 2.2% of the total number of candidates taking the exam.

In Literature, about 90% of the exams scored above average. Of which, more than 12% scored 8 points or higher.

Only Math had nearly 55% of the test scores above average. The number of candidates scoring 10 points was lower than last year.

The admission score is the total score of the three 10th grade entrance exams and priority points, if any. Students who are considered for admission must take all three 10th grade entrance exams and not have a score of 0 in any exam.

Also according to the Department of Education and Training, students will submit their admission applications to the high schools they have been admitted to from now until August 1.

Admission documents include:
- Application form for junior high school graduation exam for the 2022-2023 school year and entrance exam for grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Grade 10 entrance exam score report, on which are written 3 wishes.
- Original secondary school transcript
- Graduation certificate (temporary) issued by educational institutions.
- A copy of a valid birth certificate; a certificate of preferential treatment (if any) issued by a competent authority.
