According to the 10th grade high school admission plan for the 2025-2026 school year issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, candidates participating in the 10th grade specialized high school entrance exam in Hanoi in 2025 will go through 2 rounds including preliminary selection and entrance exam.

Round 1: Preliminary round for students who meet the admission requirements and have valid application documents.

Preliminary score = Excellent student and talent exam score + 4-year secondary school learning result score

Students who achieve a preliminary score of 8.0 or higher will be selected for round 2.

Round 2: Organize an entrance exam for students who have passed the preliminary round in round 1.

Regarding the exam subjects, candidates take 3 exams in the entrance exam for grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools and an exam for specialized subjects according to their wishes. The entrance exams for grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools are calculated with a coefficient of 1, the exam for specialized subjects is calculated with a coefficient of 2.

Regarding the exam format, Math, Literature, History and Geography are tested in essay format; Foreign Language (exam for specialized Foreign Language classes) is tested in essay format combined with objective multiple choice to assess listening, reading and writing skills (with additional listening comprehension). Natural Science is tested in essay format combined with objective multiple choice. Time for test is 150 minutes/specialized subject.

Admission score = Total score of non-major exams (coefficient 1) + Score of major exams (coefficient 2)

Each candidate can register for specialized classes of 2 out of 4 specialized schools, can register for the same specialized subject of 2 schools but must prioritize the first choice school and the second choice school. Successful candidates confirm their enrollment in the school (online or in person) from July 10 to July 12.
