Two universities require literature exam in all majors

The Central University of Art Education enrolls 1,670 full-time university students in 2025 with a literature exam requirement in all majors.

Accordingly, there are two forms of considering literature scores: considering high school graduation exam results or considering academic transcript results.

The school requires that the average score of literature for the 3 years of high school must be at least 6.5 or higher, the 12th grade academic performance must be ranked as Good or higher, or the high school graduation exam score in literature must be 6.5 or higher.

In case the candidate has an excellent aptitude test score organized by the school (from 9.0 or higher), the literature score must be at least 5.0.

In the 2025 university entrance exam, the Central University of Art Education uses 3 methods including direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, admission based on high school graduation exam scores or transcripts, and combined admission based on literature and aptitude test results.

The Central College of Art Education's aptitude test includes many different subjects corresponding to the training majors.

Candidates applying for the Music Education major must take two aptitude tests: basic music knowledge and vocal and instrumental music.

Candidates applying for Piano, Vocal Music, and Cultural Management majors must take the following subjects: basic music knowledge, piano or vocal music.

Candidates for the Drama and Film Acting major must take two subjects: physical appearance, voice, and acting.

Candidates applying for the majors of Fine Arts Education, Painting, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Sewing Technology, and Cultural Management must take the subjects of drawing and color drawing.

Last year's highest benchmark score of the school was for graphic design with 37.5 points (aptitude score multiplied by 2).

Similarly, Literature is a compulsory subject in all admission groups of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance from 2025.

In 2025, the school will enroll more than 5,300 students in 12 groups. Of which, the economics, law, and technology groups require Math and Literature; and the language and social science groups require Literature and English.

Compared to previous years, the school removed the A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) and A01 (Math, Physics, English) groups.

The school representative explained that the school considers Literature important, helping students easily absorb social sciences and general subjects, from which they can move on to specialized knowledge. This is also one of the two compulsory subjects in the high school graduation exam.
