Announcing China's economic development, Li Qiang said that economic growth in the second quarter of 2023 is expected to be higher than that in the first quarter of 2023 and is expected to reach the annual growth target of about 5%. In the first quarter of 2023, China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth reached 4.5% year-on-year.
Premier Li Qiang said that the trend of globalization remains unchanged and unaffected despite the recent "headwinds" the world economy has witnessed, and affirmed that Beijing remains open to foreign investors and businesses.
The WEF Tianjin Conference is the most important and second largest event of the WEF after the Annual Conference in Davos. This year's conference attracted the participation of more than 1,400 delegates, including Prime Ministers/Ministers of 21 countries, and leaders from 850 corporations, agencies and global organizations. Vietnam is one of 5 countries selected to attend at the Prime Minister level, along with the Prime Ministers of China, New Zealand, Mongolia and Barbados.
