Implementing the policy of developing Ninh Thuan tourism into a spearhead economic sector according to Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated August 31, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Resolution No. 66/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2022 of the Provincial People's Council, in the period of 2021-2023, tourism activities in the province have made great strides, recovered quickly, and gradually narrowed the gap with neighboring provinces. The number of tourists to the province increased rapidly, attracting 2.9 million visitors in 2023, 2.46 times higher than in 2020, reaching 82.8% of the 5-year target for the period of 2021-2025; Social income from tourism activities reached 2,300 billion VND, 2.6 times higher than in 2020, reaching 79.3% of the Resolution's target, accounting for 10% of the province's GRDP, creating jobs for 4.35% of the workforce. In addition to the achieved results, the implementation of the province's tourism development tasks still has some difficulties and limitations, such as: Some tourism projects are slow to implement, or have delayed progress; land policies and laws are not unified, not consistent with the Investment Law; investors are not really determined, lack the capacity to implement projects, have not properly implemented the committed contents; some projects have been extended land use, but project implementation is slow and prolonged. Infrastructure and facilities serving tourism are limited; lack of tourism, entertainment and recreation services to attract long-term tourists. Environmental sanitation work in some localities has not been carried out promptly, there is still garbage in beach areas and on the roads due to the low awareness of people and some service businesses...
Comrade Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial People's Council's thematic supervision delegation chaired the working session with the Provincial People's Committee on tourism activities.
Concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results in tourism activities as well as basically agreed on solutions to overcome the limitations and shortcomings proposed by departments, branches, sectors and localities. In order to continue effectively implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, he suggested that the Provincial People's Committee should strengthen communication work to raise awareness of all levels, sectors and the whole society about the work of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, especially the responsibility of sectors and levels in state management of tourism. Focus on reviewing, adjusting and perfecting legal regulations on planning and development plans for tourism space in the province; have solutions to support tourism development within the scope of decentralized management responsibilities. In particular, focusing on creating favorable conditions for attracting investment, developing transport infrastructure, facilities serving tourism development; Monitor and urge investors to complete legal procedures, speed up progress, remove and resolve difficulties and problems of tourism businesses to ensure timely, strict, effective and in accordance with regulations. Promote cooperation in tourism development with provinces, cities, airlines, etc.; organize many cultural, sports and tourism events to attract potential domestic and international tourism markets. Strengthen inspection and examination of tourism activities to detect early, remotely, strictly and promptly handle violations, or guide and support tourism service businesses to complete procedures to ensure compliance with legal regulations. Focus on directing the inspection and review of each specific case of spontaneous tourism activities that have not complied with regulations in the past to have appropriate handling measures in accordance with legal regulations, contributing to restoring order and discipline in state management of tourism, promoting local socio-economic development in general, and tourism development in particular in a sustainable direction.
