This year's Phu Dong Sports Festival in Quang Tri province will organize competitions in 11 sports (Karate will be introduced for the first time), with 85 events; taking place in 2 sessions in Dong Ha city, of which, session 1 is from March 27-31; session 2 is from April 8-12. The Phu Dong Sports Festival in the province is expected to open at 8:00 on April 8, 2024 at the Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium and close at 14:30 on April 12, 2024 at the Department of Education and Training.

At the meeting, members of the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival Steering Committee gave many ideas to make the 2024 Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival successful and impressive.
Specifically: organizing extensive propaganda about the purpose and significance of the Phu Dong Sports Festival of the province and the movement of students practicing and competing in sports in high schools; diverse and rich forms of propaganda on mass media such as Quang Tri Newspaper, Quang Tri Radio and Television Station and on social networking sites; providing timely and accurate information to reporters; supplementing and perfecting facilities and equipment serving the organization, operation and competition work; ensuring security and order at competition venues; ensuring safety for athletes and fans participating in competitions and cheering...

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the 7th Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 Hoang Nam emphasized: In order for this Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival to be a success, based on the assigned tasks, the Steering Committee members and relevant agencies and units need to carry out their assigned tasks well, while actively coordinating closely and supporting each other.
The Department of Education and Training is the standing agency of the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival Steering Committee, responsible for issuing documents directing and guiding the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and schools in the province to organize the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the grassroots level, participate in the Provincial and National Phu Dong Sports Festival according to plan; develop and promulgate the Provincial Phu Dong Sports Festival Charter in 2024; proactively share information, urge units to coordinate well in assigned tasks.
Arrange for officials of the Department of Education and Training to act as spokespersons and provide information to the press; ensure good facilities and equipment for organizing competitions; ensure favorable and safe accommodation and competition conditions for athletes; direct units to do a good job of managing athletes after participating in competitions to ensure safety and health; develop a reasonable plan so that the Phu Dong Provincial Sports Festival does not greatly affect the teaching and learning of schools and athletes.

Regarding the opening and closing ceremonies, ensure that the scale is appropriate, solemn, economical and reflects the identity of the education and training sector. At the same time, closely coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to ensure good organization and management of competitions as well as selection and training of teams participating in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival.
