Colonel Nguyen Thanh Phong - Political Commissar of Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command (white shirt) received funding to build a funeral home for the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Kingdom of Cambodia from the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Phong - Political Commissar of Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command shared that in recent years, the unit has effectively carried out the work of searching, collecting and identifying the remains of martyrs in the province and in provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia. These activities show gratitude and remembrance of the great contributions of heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and the fulfillment of noble international obligations. However, the remains of martyrs when collected have not had a solemn place to show respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs.

Based on the financial support from the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province presided over and designed the funeral home drawings for martyrs' remains in accordance with the traditional customs of the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

Mr. Phong also hopes that the funeral home, once completed and put into use, will be a practical project, expressing gratitude and remembrance of the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification and the fulfillment of noble international obligations. The project is expected to be completed, handed over and put into use to coincide with the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2024.

According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command, from 2001 to present, through 23 phases of searching, collecting and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia, the Tay Ninh Provincial Steering Committee 515 has searched and collected 5,079 remains of martyrs. In the first phase, phase XXIII alone, 125 remains of martyrs were found.
