On December 1, in Ninh Binh, the Red Cross Association of the Red River Delta provinces (Emulation Cluster No. 2) held a conference to review the work of the Association and the Red Cross movement in 2023, deploy directions, tasks and sign the emulation covenant for 2024.
Attending the conference were Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; representatives of a number of departments, branches and organizations of Ninh Binh province.
In 2023, the Provincial Red Cross Societies effectively implemented the Association's work programs and the Red Cross movement with a total value of activities of the entire Cluster reaching over 342 billion VND; supporting nearly 866 thousand beneficiaries.
Mutual love and support movements have been widely deployed, notably: "Good people, good deeds - Joining hands to build a compassionate community" movement; Humanitarian Tet movement, Humanitarian Month, voluntary blood donation... all of which have been implemented by the provinces, exceeding the set targets.
The provincial Red Cross Associations have also played a good role as a bridge, coordinating resources, and promptly supporting poor families, Agent Orange victims, orphans, people with disabilities, and people in difficulty in the community. 9/9 provinces have operating funds (including humanitarian funds or Agent Orange victim support funds) with fund balances at all levels meeting the regulations of the Central Association.
The campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address" has been implemented with focus, attracting the support of charitable organizations and individuals, creating practical and sustainable resources for people in difficult circumstances and vulnerable people. Primary health care for the people has been given attention, contributing to raising people's awareness in preventing and avoiding accidents and injuries, minimizing risks in traffic accidents...
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the results achieved, models and good practices in humanitarian work; at the same time, seriously assessing, pointing out shortcomings and limitations and agreeing on key directions and tasks for 2024.
Next, the leaders of the Red Cross Societies of the provinces in the Emulation Cluster No. 2 signed the emulation agreement for 2024. In which, focusing on the main contents such as: Emulation to perform well in social humanitarian work; Emulation to perform well in disaster prevention and response, strengthening disaster response teams at all levels; Emulation to perform well in people's health care, propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation, humanitarian tissue and organ donation; Emulation to mobilize resources for humanitarian activities; Emulation to consolidate and build the organization of the Association...
