Recently, Hoi An City People's Committee organized a meeting and dialogue between city leaders and the startup community, artisans, skilled workers, OCOP product owners, and typical rural industries.
At the meeting, mechanisms and policies to support innovative start-up activities were informed to the Hoi An start-up community.
In addition, successful startup models, difficulties in the startup process and related recommendations were also discussed and shared.
In 2023, the city's innovative start-up activities had many positive changes. Information and propaganda work was promoted to help spread the entrepreneurial spirit among members of women's, farmers' and youth unions.
This is demonstrated by the number of projects and ideas participating in provincial recognition assessment in 2023 being higher than in previous years.
In 2023, Hoi An has a project that won the Second Prize of the National Startup Project Development Program. In addition, among the 19 projects registered to participate in the Provincial Startup Project Competition, there is one project that won the first prize, one project that won the second prize, 3 projects that received the encouragement prize and 2 tourism projects that were recognized.
According to the plan of Hoi An City People's Committee on supporting the construction of a startup ecosystem in 2024, the city continues to promote information, propaganda, and promotion to build and develop a startup ecosystem in the area.
Continue to connect the city's creative startup network with successful startup models in the province and build a strong and sustainable Hoi An startup community; build a startup support fund according to Decree 93 of the Government.
The city also continues to encourage and honor startup ideas and projects in the area. Continue to guide and promote the OCOP program and the typical rural industrial product program in the area.
Key support contents will be implemented this year such as organizing the "2nd Green Consumption - Startup Fair - Hoi An 2024"; organizing seminars, forums, and talks to build a startup ecosystem; participating in startup activities organized by the Provincial People's Committee and central agencies.
Support the integration of displaying, promoting, and connecting trade of innovative startup products - OCOP products and typical rural industrial products at trade fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the province.
“In the general socio-economic situation, Hoi An tourism in particular has seen many improvements. Hopefully, in the coming time, production and business activities of enterprises and establishments in the area will be more effective, more sustainable and in line with the province's orientation and direction for Hoi An.
