Ms. Le Thanh Huong, Principal of Tran Hung Dao Primary School, said that this morning, the school had donated a total of VND108,705,000 in cash; the items included 54 boxes of instant noodles; 185 notebooks; 60 mini gas stoves; 208 mini gas cylinders, 20 boxes of biscuits; many portions of milk and fresh cakes.
"The school still leaves the donation box on the stage and continues to receive support and donations for the people in the North from students and parents until September 16. All of these donations, cash and in-kind, are sent by the school's receiving department (including the Trade Union, Youth Union, Youth Union, and parents) to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nguyen Cu Trinh Ward to give to the people in the North," Ms. Le Thanh Huong shared.

Yesterday afternoon, September 11, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union also held a ceremony to launch the education sector to support people affected by storm No. 3. Minister Nguyen Kim Son shared that the provinces and cities in the Northern region have been going through especially difficult days due to the serious impact of storm No. 3 - a storm with the intensity and destructive power assessed to be the greatest in the past decades.
"Right now, as we sit here, heavy rain, flooding, and landslides are still occurring in many localities; many places are busy with prevention, response, and recovery work to soon stabilize life. The damage up to this point cannot be measured; the time to recover cannot be specifically calculated...", the Minister said.
Tu Dang Nguyen and Nguyen Huynh Bao Nhi, students of Kien Thiet Secondary School, District 3, brought piggy banks to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to support students and people in the flood-hit areas of the North.
Minister Nguyen Kim Son called on the entire education sector, officials, civil servants, employees, students, and organizations and individuals inside and outside the sector to join hands, contribute materially and spiritually, with support, encouragement, and connections to share the difficulties with people in flood-hit areas in general and with the education sector of the northern provinces and cities in particular.
"Any support, from notebooks, books, cash, personal items... at this time is very much appreciated. Support activities can be sent to the Vietnam Education Trade Union or directly to localities, schools, families of teachers and students affected by storms and floods," said the Minister.
The Minister noted that immediately after this fundraising event, the support should be delivered to the beneficiaries as quickly as possible. Priority will be given to human support. First of all, it will be for teachers and students. These are teachers who have suffered losses and have difficulty with accommodation and transportation; and students who cannot go to school without support...
In addition, the Minister also requested the Departments of Education and Training and educational institutions to promote support and contributions, including to students. According to the Minister, whether students donate 1,000 VND or a pencil, it is very necessary, because it is the spirit of education, the spirit of sharing that needs to be done...
