ISO 14064-1:2018 is a standard related to the Environmental Sector and is aimed at the Climate Change Program as well as the Global Sustainable Development Goals. This standard is a solid framework for quantifying, calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions and removals of a business or organization. As the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, from the beginning, the Group has applied modern, closed-loop production technology from G7 countries to optimize production, save energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions at all steel production complexes. Hoa Phat has carefully calculated and allocated up to 30% of investment capital for environmental items. A series of the latest solutions and technologies have been applied by Hoa Phat to optimize production as well as save energy, self-sufficient in electricity for production with annual electricity generation output reaching billions of kWh.
