Through the form of loan support, technical training, vocational training, support for plants and breeds, application of science and technology in production, etc.; the Farmers' Association of Loc Ngai commune (Bao Lam district) has helped members and farmers expand the scale of production and business, replicate effective economic development models, contributing to increasing income, escaping poverty, and doing good business.

Through successful coffee crops, many people in the commune built houses and bought cars.

According to statistics, the whole Loc Ngai commune has 5,777.2 hectares of coffee; of which 340 hectares are grafted and renovated, 40 hectares are replanted; pepper trees are intercropped on 188.8 hectares; tea trees are 133.1 hectares; fruit trees are intercropped on more than 539 hectares. Along with growing crops, people also raise pigs, cows, goats, deer for velvet, bamboo rats, swiftlets, quail, rabbits, etc. According to a survey by the Farmers' Association, there are 14 effective livestock models in the area, bringing in significant income.

Mr. Ho Hai - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Loc Ngai commune said: Determining that supporting and helping members to develop the economy is a key task, the Farmers' Association of the commune has directed its branches to actively propagate and mobilize members to change the structure of crops and livestock; organize and launch the Emulation Movement of Farmers who are good at production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably. The Association also builds agricultural economic models according to the value chain, organic agricultural production, high-tech application, builds cooperative economic models; promotes the application of science and technology in production, supports capital for members, helps members promote and consume products.

Right from the beginning of the year, the Association launched a movement and implemented for members to register good farmer and business households at all levels. As a result, in 2024, 1,630 households registered and 1,130 households were approved as good producers and business households at all levels. Pilot models were also built such as: household garden economic models, orchid and mulberry growing, silkworm raising; fruits grown in greenhouses; ecological garden - pond - cage; growing clean vegetables in greenhouses; growing tomatoes using high technology in greenhouses; growing ornamental plants for decorative leaves...

The Commune Farmers' Association has also actively helped members with intensive crop cultivation techniques, helped each other with more than 3,000 seedlings of various types such as coffee and avocado. The Association's fund was established with more than 300 million VND for members in difficult circumstances to borrow to invest in production, and the exchange of labor and labor was also carried out to keep up with the season and take advantage of labor during the off-season.

Village 12, Loc Ngai commune has many Tay people living. In the early days of settling in Bao Lam, people's lives were full of difficulties, sometimes hungry, sometimes full. Now, life is full in the houses; the village has no more poor or near-poor households, the majority are well-off and wealthy. Village head Nong Van Huong said that most of the people are engaged in agricultural production, growing coffee, tea, mulberry, and raising silkworms. 280 hectares of coffee with good prices in recent years have brought many households billions of dong in income. Mr. Be Van Luu's family has 10 hectares of coffee, each year they harvest about 40 tons of coffee beans, one of the households with the highest or second highest income in the village from this crop. Or like Mr. Be Kim Hoa, who currently cultivates 6 hectares of coffee, each crop yields over 20 tons of beans, with an average income of over 1 billion dong per year. According to Mr. Be Kim Hoa, the price of coffee in the 2023-2024 crop is higher than every year, so people have high income.

In order to join hands in building new rural areas, especially building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas, the Commune Farmers' Association has mobilized farmer members to participate in building rural infrastructure; participating in environmental protection and improving rural landscapes. In 2024 alone, farmers in the commune donated land, money, and labor days with more than 2,400 m2 of land, contributed 300 million VND and 40 labor days to build roads.

According to the People's Committee of Loc Ngai commune, the current situation of local agricultural production is stable and developing. The main crop area is coffee with more than 5,777 hectares, which has helped people in the commune have high income, and their lives have been significantly improved. In many places, people have built spacious houses, many families have purchased expensive items, cars...

According to Mr. Ho Hai, in the coming time, the Association will continue to promote the Movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty". Mobilize farmer members to actively participate in implementing national target programs for the period 2021 - 2025 and until 2030 of the Government, ministries, branches and Association levels on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas. At the same time, step up guidance, support and mobilization of farmer members to participate in restructuring the agricultural sector, developing the rural economy associated with new rural construction, proactively responding to climate change, preventing and combating natural disasters; protecting the environment; actively participating in effectively implementing poverty reduction models, diversifying livelihoods, improving the quality of life.
