Rubber price today March 21, 2025: Strong increase

On the morning of March 21, 2025, rubber prices in the world market recorded an upward trend again on the SHFE (Shanghai) and SGX (Singapore) exchanges, while the Tocom (Tokyo) exchange fluctuated in opposite directions depending on the delivery period.

Specifically, at Tocom, the price of RSS3 rubber for delivery in March 2025 decreased by 1.64% to 335.70 yen/kg. The April contract decreased slightly to 340.40 yen/kg. In contrast, the May and June contracts increased to 344.60 and 344.90 yen/kg, respectively.

On the SHFE, rubber prices increased sharply in April, May and June terms with increases from 70 to 115 yuan/ton.

At SGX, TSR20 rubber price increased from 2.9 to 3 cents/kg depending on delivery term.

On a broader scale, the global rubber market is being affected by a number of economic and environmental factors. Rising prices are also being supported by Indonesia’s push to develop a carbon credit market. The government is expected to finalize international agreements by May and expand credit sales overseas.

It is estimated that the value of carbon credit trading in Indonesia could reach 200 million USD this year and increase sharply in the next decade.

According to a recent report by PwC, Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam are playing an important role in the carbon credit market thanks to their large forest cover. This not only creates opportunities for sustainable development for the rubber industry but also helps the region participate more deeply in the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

In Vietnam, domestic rubber prices have not changed compared to the previous trading session.

Domestically, rubber latex prices remain stable. Mang Yang Rubber Company purchases grade 1 latex at 433 VND/TSC/kg; grade 2 latex at 429 VND/TSC/kg. Grade 1 mixed latex is purchased at 436 VND/DRC/kg; grade 2 at 382 VND/DRC/kg.

Binh Long Rubber Company keeps the purchase price of latex at 386-396 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex with 60% DRC at 14,000 VND/kg. Phu Rieng Rubber Company purchases latex at 440 VND/TSC/kg; mixed latex at 400 VND/DRC/kg.

Ba Ria Rubber Company applies the purchase price of latex level 1 at 452 VND/TSC degree/kg for TSC degree from 30 and above; level 2 is 447 VND/TSC degree/kg for TSC degree from 25 to under 30; level 3 is 442 VND/TSC degree/kg for TSC degree from 20 to under 25. Cup latex and coagulated latex with DRC degree ≥ 50% are purchased at 18,000 VND/kg; DRC from 45-50% at 16,700 VND/kg; DRC from 35-45% at 13,500 VND/kg.
