Bui Tien Dung was called up to the Vietnam national team. The Viettel FC midfielder was called up to replace Do Duy Manh, who was injured before the match in round 3 of V.League 2023/2024 between Hanoi Police FC and Hanoi FC.
Bui Tien Dung is one of the most experienced central defenders in the Vietnam national team. Under coach Park Hang Seo, he is often called up and given the opportunity to play.

Coach Troussier called Bui Tien Dung for the training sessions in June and September, but the central defender was not used. He was absent from the training session in October and was not included in the list announced a few days ago to prepare for the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
In the list of the Vietnamese team this time, coach Troussier also has central defenders Nguyen Thanh Binh, Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Giap Tuan Duong and Luong Duy Cuong.
The Vietnam team will start training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from today, November 6. The team will have about 1 week of training before moving to the Philippines on November 13. Coach Troussier will reduce the list from 32 to 28 players.
In the Philippines, the team will have 3 more days of training before finalizing the list of 23 players for the match against the host team (November 16). After that, Coach Troussier and his team will return to Vietnam to welcome the Iraqi team (November 21).
The 2026 World Cup qualifiers taking place in November (first two matches) are Mr. Troussier's first official tournament with the Vietnam team after the testing period. In addition to experienced players, many young stars of the Vietnam U23 team have been promoted to gradually replace their seniors in the future. The goal of the Vietnam team is to pass the second qualifying round and aim for a place in the 2026 World Cup finals.
