Speaking ahead of the Manchester derby, coach Erik ten Hag highly appreciated Man City's success but Man Utd should not copy the entire model of their "neighbor".
" I think you can always learn from successful opponents. You have to do that if you want to go to the next level, but at the same time, we have to do it the Man Utd way. We are a different club, a different environment and have a different DNA. You have to pick the successful details and integrate them into your model ," coach Erik ten Hag replied when asked about the new Man Utd boss wanting to learn from Man City's success.
Previously, Sir Jim Ratcliffe - who owns 25% of shares and controls Man Utd's football operations - said he admired Man City. The billionaire reformed Man Utd by bringing in Omar Berrada - CEO of City Football Group. In addition, Sir Jim wanted to appoint Jason Wilcox - a former Man City player - as technical director.

Regarding Sir Jim Ratcliffe's statement to overthrow Man City in the next 3 years, coach Erik ten Hag said: " We have to show ambition, wanting to be the best. That is Man Utd's priority, but we know where we are ."
Coach Erik ten Hag believes his team can beat Man City despite missing several key players. Man Utd will be without Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund. Bruno Fernandes is likely to play through pain, as he did against Nottingham Forest in midweek.
The reporter also asked about Bruno Fernandes' body language. This player often gets angry or complains to referees and teammates. Coach Erik ten Hag does not feel any problem with his student's actions.
" I spoke to the team about it, about the impact it has on the opponents and the crowd. Football is a game of psychology. You have to use everything to your advantage. When the body language is positive, it benefits the team. Bruno wants to win and the way he shows emotion motivates the team ," the Dutch coach shared.
The match between Man City and Man Utd will take place at 22:30 (Vietnam time) at Etihad Stadium.
