On the afternoon of March 20, U22 Vietnam drew 1-1 with U22 Korea at Yancheng Olympic Stadium (Jiangsu Province, China), in the first match of the CFA Team China 2025 Friendly Tournament.
Notably, U22 Vietnam opened the score in the 53rd minute thanks to Nguyen Thanh Nhan. And it was not until the last minute of the match that U22 Korea equalized 1-1.
Evaluating the performance of U22 Vietnam after the match, acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "This match is an important test for the whole team. Regardless of the result, we had the opportunity to compete with a quality opponent, thereby learning valuable lessons.
I appreciate the players' efforts. They showed solidarity, followed the tactics and were not afraid to clash with strong opponents.
Of course, the team still has some areas to improve to reach its long-term goals. Especially in terms of controlling the tempo of the game and handling decisive situations. We will continue to analyze to help the players improve."
According to the match schedule, U22 Vietnam will continue to meet U22 Uzbekistan (March 23) and U22 China (March 25).
Talking about the preparation for the next match, Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh shared: "Uzbekistan has a very disciplined physique, physical strength and playing style.
The coaching staff and players will focus on recovering their physical strength, adjusting their tactics appropriately and preparing themselves mentally. This will be a difficult match, but it is also an opportunity for U22 Vietnam to continue to assert themselves and test new tactical options."
