On this route, the Deo But road tunnel is one of the highlights of the expressway through Ha Tinh province. The tunnel is nearly 1 km long, passing through Dong Nang mountain, the north belongs to Ky Lac commune (Ky Anh district), the south belongs to Ky Hoa commune (Ky Anh town). The project is designed permanently, reinforced concrete shell, scale of 2 separate tunnels, each tunnel is 15 m wide, 8 m high.

In July 2023, Son Hai Group started drilling the first drill bit to construct the Deo But tunnel and after 10 months of construction efforts, the right tunnel tube in the North-South direction was drilled and cleared, 840 m long. The left tunnel tube was also drilled for 566 m and only about 150 m remained to clear the entire tunnel.

According to Son Hai Group's assessment, Dong Nang mountain has a lot of underground water, weak geological foundation, and loose interspersed rocks and soil. During the construction process, contractors encountered many difficulties and had to make some small adjustments compared to the original design to overcome them.

According to plan, the North-South expressway project through Ha Tinh will be completed in December 2025, but the Ministry of Transport and the investor are striving to shorten the project completion time by 4-6 months.
