Quang Ngai organizes the Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony

The ceremony takes place on the 16th day of the third lunar month every year at An Vinh village communal house, performed by the festival committee and the clans on the island. The ceremony includes main parts such as the presentation ceremony, the welcoming ceremony, the boat launching ceremony... to commemorate and pay tribute to the soldiers of the Hoang Sa Heroic Army in the past - those who did not fear the danger to go to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa to plant markers and erect sovereignty steles for the Fatherland.

The Khao Le Festival is not only a spiritual activity but also an opportunity for people and tourists to better understand the silent sacrifices of their ancestors in the fight to protect the territorial waters. "Hoang Sa Soldier Commemoration Ceremony" is a festival recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Young people carry fishing boat models symbolizing the Hoang Sa Fleet's boats going out to sea to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

On each fishing boat there is an offering of chicken tied to a banana tree trunk.

One by one, the fishing boat models were released into the sea.
