Therefore, the construction and implementation of review plans with duration and knowledge system are being focused on by schools to help students have the best preparation before taking the exam.
NOT ORGANIZED ON A CITY-WIDE SCALE
According to the instructions for organizing the examination and assessment of high school students in the 2024-2025 school year of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the time to complete the examination and assessment at the end of the second semester is May 17.
According to Thanh Nien reporters, most high school students completed these periodic tests by the end of April. The remaining time is specifically for planning review, organizing mock tests according to regulations, and illustrative exam structures to help final year students confidently enter the high school graduation exam.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that Ho Chi Minh City does not organize a mock graduation exam on a city-wide scale but gives the initiative to high schools based on the reality and conditions of the unit. Currently, schools have been planning to review graduation exams for 12th graders, of which some schools plan to organize mock exams, while others spend time to systematize knowledge and practice test-taking skills based on the structure and format of each subject's exam. The specific time may vary between schools, but is usually arranged around the end of May or early June. The goal is to help students get used to the new exam format and prepare well for the official exam.
SPEND TIME REVIEWING KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICING SKILLS
Sharing with Thanh Nien reporters on the afternoon of April 13, Mr. Nguyen Duy Tuyen, Principal of Nguyen Khuyen High School (District 10), said that after students complete the second periodic tests in late April to early May, when the results are available, the school will use that as a basis to organize review sessions and supplement knowledge for students. In the first week of June, students will participate in a mock test. This will be the final step in reviewing knowledge and test-taking skills to promptly notify students before entering the official exam.
Ms. Le Hong Anh, Vice Principal of Vo Van Kiet High School (District 8), also said that during the learning, reviewing and periodic testing process, the subject groups have helped students get familiar with the structure and question format of the graduation exam. However, this is the first exam, so the school plans to organize a trial exam for nearly 600 12th grade students in early June. "Through the trial exam, teachers will use the results to help students evaluate and adjust their learning methods, fully prepare the necessary learning tools and documents to take the official exam," Ms. Hong Anh said.
As for Phong Phu High School (Binh Chanh District), Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, Principal, said that as soon as the Ministry of Education and Training announced the exam structure, the subject groups closely followed the requirements and orientation of the exam to compile questions for each subject to deploy for students to get acquainted with.
Ms. Tam said that the school will divide into 2 groups: advanced and remedial to best meet the needs and support students for the upcoming exam.

The principal of Phong Phu High School informed that the school does not organize mock exams but spends time reviewing knowledge and practicing test-taking skills according to the exam format. The school's and parents' viewpoint is to support students' knowledge in every way, not to increase pressure or affect their psychology.
In addition to giving schools the initiative in whether or not to organize mock exams, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc said that the Department has directed professional groups and teachers teaching high school graduation exams to review and classify students' levels (achievement levels) to propose class placement plans, assign teachers in charge according to subjects, and implement for 12th grade students to get acquainted with the exam format announced by the Ministry and how the exam is organized. Proactively develop plans, review content, compile a system of appropriate questions and exercises to organize review for students; focus on helping students understand and apply knowledge to do well on the graduation exam.
