In addition to being a production worker, Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet, Raw Materials - Separation Workshop, also takes on the role of Safety and Health Officer. Every day, before starting the production shift, Ms. Tuyet is responsible for monitoring, guiding, and reminding all workers to comply with the factory's safety regulations.
During the production shift, she regularly checks, supervises, and promptly detects potential risks of work accidents to recommend timely remedies to the workshop leaders.
Ms. Tuyet said: “The entire workshop currently has 7 safety workers. During working hours, to ensure occupational safety, the workshop’s safety team organizes for employees to cross-check each other at work locations. This helps workers recognize all risks that may occur during production shifts.”
Similarly, Mr. Dao Thanh Hoa, a worker at Ket Tinh Workshop, is also concurrently holding the role of Safety and Health Officer. The workshop currently has nearly 60 workers, including 10 Safety and Health Officers. The workshop's characteristic is that it often has outside units coming in to construct project items. Therefore, the role of Mr. Hoa and the Safety and Health Officer network is very important.
According to Mr. Van Tien Hung, Production Shift Leader, Ket Tinh Workshop, at the beginning of the shift, the Safety and Health Team will arrange for staff to check the area to see if there are any remaining problems or dangers in the production area. If any household waste or industrial waste is found, the operating staff will be notified to coordinate in checking and cleaning up. This will minimize the dangers at work.
“In the workshop, every week and every month, shift leaders and leaders will look at and evaluate the existing problems of the food safety network to do better work,” Mr. Hung added.
Over the years, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV has always considered occupational safety and health as an important link contributing to minimizing risks in the entire factory. In production, the departmental unions in the workshops directly direct the occupational safety and health network to inspect and urge union members to fully implement regulations and procedures on occupational safety and health.
The trade unions of the departments actively listened, coordinated with the authorities to accompany the safety and hygiene team to promptly and thoroughly handle the safety risks arising during the performance of their duties. Thanks to that, the safety and hygiene network in the workshops has played its role well, ensuring the stable production activities of the Factory.
The company has built a wide network of safety and health workers throughout the workshops. Currently, the unit's safety and health workers network has more than 80 people. This is a typical force trusted and selected by the workshops. Each workshop has from 6-10 safety and health workers.
To improve the expertise and skills of this team, the Company annually organizes training courses, coaching, skill competitions, and seminars to improve the quality of the food safety network. This helps the food safety network to always operate actively and effectively.
Mr. Ngo To Ninh, Deputy Director and Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said: The role of the safety and hygiene network in the Company is very important and can operate independently. Thereby, it helps to warn and detect unsafe locations in the factory.
“From 2023, the Company has tried to enhance the role of this force. In particular, at the end of May, the unit organized a workshop on the role and responsibility of the safety and health network, with many specific topics. This helped the departmental unions and the safety and health team participate in the exchange to better understand their responsibilities and roles.”
Currently, the Company's Board of Directors is requesting units to review all people in the food safety network to ensure they have real knowledge, expertise, and qualifications at each production unit. This will help the food safety network in the Company operate more smoothly and better.
