On the evening of December 19, 2023, the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition and the announcement of the awards for the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest took place in Hanoi. This is the first time that the Ministry of Information and Communications has organized the contest online, on the platform to promote Vietnam's image - Vietnam.vn.
According to the Organizing Committee, after 4 months of launching, the contest has attracted more than 7,000 photos and videos. The contest has selected 28 works to enter the award round and 70 photos and 14 videos to display at the exhibition. On the Vietnam.vn platform, more than 90 million people have viewed 7,000 works, of which more than 40% are from abroad.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized: “Happy Vietnam is not only a contest, but also a festival for Vietnamese people to speak up about their happy lives. That happiness appears in every house, every field, every village, every street. That happiness is because they themselves have created that happiness and they themselves speak up about that happiness.”
The highlight of this year's contest is the technology element. The digital platform is spread across every corner of the country, with just a smartphone covered by 4G/5G, every citizen, no matter where they are, can create, record their moments and contribute their own voice to create a Vietnam of the people.

Through each work, the vitality of the Vietnamese people is strongly demonstrated. “The greatest strength always belongs to the People. The greatest creativity always belongs to the People. The most powerful vitality always belongs to the People. 7,000 photos and videos of the Vietnamese people across the country are vivid evidence of the strength, creativity and vitality of the People,” said Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Minister of Information and Communications.
After a long time of working, the Board of Judges has selected the best works. The two first prizes in the photo and video categories belong to the works “Flying to Vietnam” by author Bui Cuong Quyet and “Da Nang - City of Biodiversity” by author Nguyen Thanh Paven.

Second Prize went to two works: Nha Trang (The Sea Calls) by Vuong Manh Cuong and Skyscraper Shrouded in Clouds by Catalin Chitu. In addition, the expert council also awarded 2 Third Prizes, 20 Encouragement Prizes and 2 works with the most votes.
The Happy Vietnam Award Ceremony has ended but opened a new journey - a journey for the world to see a colorful, attractive Vietnam, and love Vietnam more.
