The two books "Have a nice day" and "Sitting and crying on the tree" by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh were translated and published in English by Tre Publishing House.
In August 2023, Tre Publishing House released two books, Have a good day and Crying in trees, translated from two original works, Have a good day and Crying in trees, by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh.
The two books, translated by Nha Thuyen and Kaitlin Rees, talk about childhood memories, innocent first feelings, nurturing love for nature and animals, and other beautiful feelings.
"When choosing works to translate, books in the literary genre are always our top choice, because they easily evoke empathy in readers from any culture," said a representative of Tre Publishing House.
In the near future, Have a good day and Crying in trees will be introduced at the Tre Publishing House booth at the International Book Fair in Frankfurt (Germany). This is a continuation of the Tre Publishing House's efforts in proactively translating Vietnamese works into English to introduce them to the world.

Writer Nguyen Nhat Anh said that in order for domestic literature to have the opportunity to go abroad, publishing units must have potential, ambition, determination and a clear direction.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam - Deputy Director, Editor-in-Chief of Tre Publishing House - said that in the first time having its own booth at the Frankfurt International Book Fair, the unit will introduce 2 English books by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, hoping to enrich the list of books introduced to international friends.
In addition, the unit will also introduce to the world publishing community outstanding titles in fields such as history, culture, literature, etc.
In particular, a series of works translated into English or copyrighted in many countries around the world by famous Vietnamese writers such as Nguyen Nhat Anh, Bao Ninh, Nguyen Ngoc Tu, Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Duong Thuy... will also be "released".

Sitting and Crying on a Tree was first published in Vietnam in 2013, telling the story of the innocent, pure love between a young student named Dong and a 14-year-old girl called Rua by everyone.
Rua is seriously ill, only in 5th grade, and has a special situation where his father died early and his mother left. Dong only really noticed Rua when she hid outside the door watching him read a book and from there a beautiful friendship blossomed between the two.
At first, Dong only sympathized with Rua because of her situation and was upset when her friends shunned her. However, later on, Rua's innocence, naivety and kindness made Dong feel moved and attracted to her little by little.
One day, Dong was shocked and heartbroken when he learned that he was Rua's cousin while their feelings for each other had become deep. He returned to Saigon, hiding in his village for 3 years until another shock came to Dong when he discovered that he had leukemia.
With this book, once again readers are given a precious gift by Nguyen Nhat Anh, which is the belief in the good things that really exist in life.
Good Day was published in 2014, set in a village when the animals at Mrs. Do's and Cu's house - including 2 pigs Potty and Curly Tail, a dog Short-Snout and a flock of chickens - feel bored with everyday life.
They start to misbehave like making other species' sounds or talking to people in a "mixed language".
All sorts of troubles and surprises happened from then on, like when people flocked to see them, the pig helped people catch thieves in a strange language, or Cu missed little Ha, and Lo Noi "secretly loved" the pig Deo No who lived at Mrs. Tuoi's house...
Previously, writer Nguyen Nhat Anh had many works copyrighted and published in many languages such as: Blue Eyes (Japanese version, 2004), Give me a ticket to childhood (Thai version, 2011, Korean version, 2013, English version, 2014, Japanese version, 2020), The girl from yesterday (selected to be included in the Vietnamese language teaching program of MV Lomonosov Moscow University in 2012), I see yellow flowers on green grass (Japanese version, 2017, English version, 2018), Going through chrysanthemums (Japanese version, 2020), I am Beto (Korean version, 2021)...
