Thanks to efforts to overcome difficulties and promote production and business, industrial production activities in Ha Tinh have continuously recorded good growth in all sectors in recent months. In particular, the resumption of operation of Unit 1 of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant has contributed to the remarkable growth of the electricity production industry.
Mr. Le Xuan Tu - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: The province's industrial production index in October 2023 increased by 22.7% over the same period last year, of which: the mining industry increased by 2.97%; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 21.2%; the electricity and gas production and distribution industry increased by 40.5%; the water supply and waste and wastewater treatment industry increased by 12.4%.
With a breakthrough growth in recent months, the industrial production index in 10 months has reached an increase of nearly 7.3% over the same period last year. The good news is that all four groups of primary industries have grown. Specifically, the mining industry increased by 4.3%; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.6%; the electricity production and distribution industry increased by 13.2%; the water supply and waste and wastewater treatment industry increased by 0.8% over the same period in 2022.

Of the 20 main product groups, 11 groups had an increase in output in the first 10 months compared to the same period last year. As a major contributor to industrial activities, despite being affected by global inflation, Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation still strives to maintain production and boost product consumption. Thanks to that, the company's steel output - the main product of Ha Tinh industry in 10 months still reached more than 4 million tons, an increase of about 9% over the same period last year.
Recent positive signals are considered a solid stepping stone for the industrial production index to achieve the growth target set at the beginning of the year. However, it must also be recognized that many industries are facing many difficulties and challenges.
Some industrial products also decreased in output compared to the same period last year, such as: ilmenite ore and ilmenite concentrate decreased by 57.8%; burnt clay construction bricks decreased by 36.5%; zircon ore and zircon concentrate decreased by 37.8%; pharmaceuticals decreased by 14.9%; animal feed decreased by 13%...
The animal feed production industry is facing difficulties, with output decreasing compared to the same period in 2022.
