The campaign aims to ensure that 95% of children aged 6 months to under 9 months living in Hanoi receive one dose of measles vaccine.

The target group for measles vaccination in the campaign is children from 6 months to under 9 months old living in Hanoi. The scope of implementation is in 100% of communes, wards and towns of 30 districts, towns and cities across the city according to the Ministry of Health's vaccination schedule.

Regarding the implementation time, it will start from February 2025. In the following months, vaccination will be implemented for children who are 6 months old and catch-up vaccination for children from 7 months to under 9 months old who have not been vaccinated.

Units and localities organize campaign vaccination on the same day or different from regular vaccination days, depending on the number of vaccination subjects and the actual situation of the locality.

The venue is a regular vaccination point of communes, wards and towns such as Health Stations (CHS), Health Centers (HCCs) or other fixed vaccination points. The vaccination point is arranged to ensure the one-way principle, fully equipped with a pre-vaccination waiting area, reception area, pre-vaccination screening and consultation area, vaccination area and post-vaccination monitoring area.

Each vaccination site must have sufficient staff, including at least three medical staff who have been trained and certified in vaccination safety. The remaining staff will be responsible for reception, maintaining order, recording information in the book, and filling in information on the national vaccination information management system.

The number of vaccination sessions at each vaccination point depends on the number of subjects in the area, not exceeding 100 subjects/injection table/injection session for measles vaccine alone and not exceeding 50 subjects/injection table/injection session if vaccinated with other vaccines.

At vaccination sites, ensure adequate equipment, supplies, anti-shock facilities, and assign specific tasks to each member. Emergency teams of health stations and health centers are always on duty during vaccination days, ready to respond and promptly provide emergency care in case of post-vaccination reactions.

Hanoi CDC recommends that districts and towns step up communication work before, during and after the campaign; provide information and the significance of vaccination campaigns; and provide information on measles and how to prevent it on local radio stations.
