90% discount on Tet train tickets for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers

Vietnam Railways Corporation said that the railway continues to apply the regular ticket discount policy for social policy beneficiaries when buying train tickets for Tet At Ty 2025.

Accordingly, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and revolutionary activists before the August 19, 1945 uprising receive a 90% discount on ticket prices. War invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, resistance fighters exposed to toxic chemicals; people with especially severe disabilities and people with severe disabilities receive a 30% discount on ticket prices.

Senior citizens who are Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and over receive a 15% discount on ticket prices. Union members who purchase individual tickets receive a 5% discount on ticket prices.

Students of universities, academies, colleges, professional and vocational high schools when buying train tickets running from January 15 to January 21, 2025, i.e. from December 16 to 22 (for even-numbered trains running from South to North) and from February 10 to February 16, 2025, i.e. from January 13 to 19 (for odd-numbered trains running from North to South) will receive a 20% discount on ticket prices.

In particular, children from 6 to 10 years old receive a 25% discount on ticket prices. Children under 6 years old traveling with an adult are free of charge. Children traveling free of charge must share a seat with an accompanying adult. Each adult is allowed to bring no more than two children traveling free of charge.

The railway does not sell extra seat tickets for the 2025 Tet train. However, the form of selling extra seat tickets is still applied to children who are eligible to buy tickets. Accordingly, passengers traveling with children buy sleeper or seat tickets and voluntarily write on the paper "Request to buy extra seat tickets for children and ensure the safety of children when sharing seats with adults". Each adult passenger ticket is purchased with an additional child seat ticket, when boarding the train, they are arranged to share seats with accompanying adults.

Extra seat tickets are also sold for armed forces and police officers on sudden business trips, military service, and reporters on assignment.
