On March 20, 1975, developing the victory of the Central Highlands campaign, Regiment 271 liberated Kien Duc (now the center of Dak Rlap district, Dak Nong province). Corps 4 used a part of Division 9, Regiment 341 in combination with local troops of Binh Phuoc to attack and liberate An Loc, Chon Thanh, destroying more than 2,000 puppet soldiers.

- Developing the victory of the Central Highlands campaign, on March 20, Regiment 271 liberated Kien Duc (now the center of Dak Rlap district, Dak Nong province).

- On the same day, following the direction of the Regional Command, the Binh Phuoc armed forces temporarily stopped marching to liberate Gia Nghia and quickly returned from the direction of Bu Dop, marching down to surround Binh Long so that the Binh Long forces could descend to surround Chon Thanh.

- In the northeast of Saigon, on the afternoon of March 20, after 4 days of fighting, the 7th Division and local forces destroyed and disintegrated the entire enemy force, including the reinforcements of the 18th Division, controlling a 50km stretch of Highway 20, cutting off the only road from the Southeast to the Central Highlands, opening another important corridor for the Liberation Army in the northeast direction of Saigon.

- On the outskirts of Saigon, on March 20, Gia Dinh Regiment 1 combined with local Cu Chi troops to attack a GMC convoy carrying ammunition on the Hoc Mon-Cu Chi route. Special forces joined the 2nd Special Forces Division to deploy to the southwest, shelling Bien Hoa and Dong Du airports...

On the An Loc-Chon Thanh direction, on March 20, 1975, the 4th Corps used a part of the 9th Division, 341st Regiment in combination with local troops from Binh Phuoc to attack and liberate An Loc and Chon Thanh, destroying over 2,000 puppet soldiers.

- On the same day, the General Command sent a telegram praising the fighting spirit of the Tri-Thien Military Region for successfully completing the task of completely liberating Quang Tri province, announcing that the enemy troops could withdraw from Thua Thien-Hue to regroup at strategic key points and instructed: Continue the attack, do not stop at My Chanh; concentrate on using two regiments (4, 46) to form an attack from the North, combine with the 2nd Corps from the South to attack and destroy the enemy troops in Hue, block the Thuan An seaport to prevent the enemy from retreating by sea.
