With diverse resources and rich ecosystems, Van Long Eco-tourism Area (Gia Van Commune, Gia Vien District) has many advantages and potentials for tourism development, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the locality. In order to develop tourism in an effective and sustainable direction, Gia Van Commune always actively promotes people to raise awareness of environmental protection, ecosystem protection and build a civilized tourism image.

Comrade Bui Van Ky, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune, Head of the Mass Mobilization Bloc of Gia Van commune, said: Identifying tourism as a key economic sector, Gia Van commune, especially the Mass Mobilization Bloc, has focused on disseminating to all cadres, union members, association members and people of all walks of life about the policy and orientation of tourism development associated with local socio-economic development.

At the same time, propagate and guide the people, especially those directly participating in tourism service activities, to properly implement village and hamlet conventions and regulations; civilized tourism lifestyle; communication and behavioral skills; participate in maintaining security, order, traffic safety; protect natural landscapes and the environment... The Commune Mass Mobilization Block also coordinates with functional agencies to organize training courses on: skills in handling situations, communicating with tourists; English language training; ways to promote the image of scenic spots to domestic and foreign tourists...

With the participation of all levels and sectors, especially the perseverance in propaganda and mobilization work of the Commune Mass Mobilization Bloc, people's awareness has gradually been raised.

Currently, in the commune, there is no solicitation of customers, no more violations of landscape and environment; business households do not violate the regulations of the Commune People's Committee and behave more civilly when communicating with tourists, the environment is kept clean, food safety is ensured... The motto "Pleased guests come, satisfied guests go", "Speaking good words, beautiful gestures" has left an impression on the journey of discovery of each tourist when coming to Van Long Eco-tourism Area.

After more than 10 years of working as a boat rower, Ms. Le Thi Duyen, from Tap Ninh village, Gia Van commune, has become a real tour guide. While gently rowing her boat, Ms. Duyen introduces and tells tourists simple stories about the wild beauty, biodiversity and the titles that the Reserve has achieved.

Ms. Duyen said: Through training courses at all levels and sectors, we understand that to develop sustainable tourism, we must change the mindset and awareness of the people working in tourism. Therefore, in addition to providing boat rowing services to take tourists on sightseeing tours, we also work as tour guides, cleaning the environment, and propagating so that tourists can join hands to protect the environment to become greener, cleaner, and more beautiful.

The efforts of all levels, sectors and people in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and building a civilized tourism image have contributed to helping Van Long Eco-tourism Area attract more and more tourists.

In 2023, Van Long Eco-tourism Area welcomed more than 70,000 visitors, mainly international visitors. In the first 3 months of 2024, it attracted over 21,000 visitors and is expected to reach over 80,000 visitors for the whole year.

Ms. Nathalie, a tourist from France, was quite excited and satisfied during her trip to Van Long Eco-tourism Area. She said: This is my first time coming to Van Long, the natural landscape here is really beautiful, almost completely preserving its original wildness. Among the majestic limestone mountains, I can enjoy the cool, clear water to the point where I can see aquatic species and admire the douc langurs foraging on the mountain. Not only exploring the majestic natural landscape, I also feel the thoughtfulness, enthusiasm and extreme hospitality of the local people. Through the way people do tourism, preserve the landscape, protect nature, protect the environment, it has helped visitors here raise awareness, not littering, throwing garbage in the right place... After the trip, I will introduce it to my friends and relatives and come back soon to continue exploring the beauty here.

With the participation of the Commune Mass Mobilization Block in propaganda and mobilization work, it has contributed to changing the perspective and thinking of local people in tourism. Thereby, it has created a positive change in implementing a civilized tourism lifestyle, contributing to building Van Long Eco-tourism Area into a safe, friendly and hospitable destination.
