According to the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, from 3:00 p.m. today, January 23, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 158 VND/liter, to 20,592 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 78 VND/liter, the new price is 21,142 VND/liter.
However, in this adjustment, diesel price continued to increase by 412 VND/liter, up to 20,194 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 404 VND/liter, selling price was 20,110 VND/liter and mazut increased by 571 VND, up to 17,752 VND/kg.
During this operating period, the joint ministries did not set aside or use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products.
As of the time before price adjustment, the balance of the Price Stabilization Fund at the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) was 3,081 billion VND, unchanged from the most recent announcement.
This is the first decrease in gasoline prices since the beginning of 2025. Most recently (January 16), E5 RON92 gasoline prices increased by VND319/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by VND201/liter; diesel increased by VND539/liter; kerosene increased by VND462/liter, and fuel oil increased by VND999/kg.
Today is the last adjustment period before the 9-day Tet holiday. According to regulations, gasoline prices are adjusted every Thursday. However, next week's adjustment schedule falls on January 30, the second day of Tet. Therefore, the adjustment period will be postponed to February 1 (the fourth day of Tet) according to Decree 80 on gasoline trading.
