World oil prices
Specifically, WTI oil price increased by 0.70 USD/barrel, reaching 63.05 USD/barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil price increased sharply by 2.66 USD/barrel, reaching 65.48 USD/barrel.
The tariff delay has eased trade tensions and raised hopes for negotiations, helping oil prices recover after a series of sharp declines. However, the market remains under pressure from the risk of oversupply and geopolitical uncertainty. President Trump’s continued increase in tariffs of up to 125% on Chinese goods, along with Beijing’s response of 84%, has further dimmed the outlook for global trade. The European Union has also imposed a 25% tariff on imports from the US, raising concerns about a wider trade war.
In addition, OPEC+’s plan to increase production by more than 400,000 barrels per day in May is weighing on oil prices, amid rising US crude inventories. However, OPEC+ may consider postponing the increase if market volatility continues. A temporary support factor for oil prices is the oil spill that temporarily shut down the Keystone pipeline connecting Canada and the US. However, experts warn that the current rally in oil prices remains unstable due to concerns about a global economic recession.
Domestic gasoline prices
In the domestic market, retail prices of gasoline and oil continue to increase. Since 3:00 p.m. on April 3, 2025, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline has increased by VND 341/liter, currently at VND 20,373/liter. RON 95 gasoline also increased by VND 495/liter, to VND 20,919/liter.

In this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not make any allocation or use of the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for all products.
Although world prices are increasing again, the country still maintains a stable management policy, ensuring a balance between consumer and business interests in a volatile market context.
