On April 12, information from the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that the province has just had a plan to review traffic infrastructure, planning to arrange cars to ensure work and travel needs of officials, civil servants, and public employees after the arrangement of provincial administrative units.
It is expected that if the province merges, there will be about 1,000 cadres, civil servants and public employees (of which, about 120 cadres are under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, excluding armed forces) who need to move from Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province to Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province to work and vice versa.
For leaders of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Directors, Deputy Directors and equivalent department level, private official vehicles will be arranged for pick-up and drop-off, with proactive travel time, not following a specific time frame, ensuring to meet work requirements.
The rest will arrange shared transportation, hire cars to pick up and drop off officials, civil servants, and public employees according to a certain schedule (set pick up from 1 - 3 pick up/drop off points throughout the journey).
As for 120 officials under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, they use official vehicles from the agencies and units that manage them to transport officials according to the standards of their positions that are allowed to use official vehicles. For the remaining 880 officials, they rent centralized transportation vehicles according to a specific schedule.
According to the expected schedule, the shuttle bus will depart from Tuy Hoa City at around 4:00 a.m. every week (expected to pick up at the Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee headquarters). The schedule to bring officials to Phu Yen will depart from 5:30 p.m. every Friday, picking up in Buon Ma Thuot City (expected to pick up at the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee headquarters). During the trip, it is possible to pick up at some additional locations to ensure convenience for officials, civil servants, and public employees.
The total estimated cost (excluding official vehicle costs) is about 1 billion VND/month, from the provincial budget in 2025 and support from the Central Government.
Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee will conduct a survey on the actual travel needs of officials, civil servants and public employees in the two localities. In particular, from July to August 2025, the plan to select a contractor to provide vehicles (contract vehicles) will be implemented. September 2025: Implement the plan. January 2026 will summarize the travel situation to make appropriate adjustments and supplements.
