World oil prices recorded another week of acceleration last week. Brent crude oil prices ended the week at $72.16/barrel, up 2.1%; WTI crude oil prices closed the week at $68.28/barrel, up 1.6%. This is the biggest weekly increase for Brent and WTI crude oil prices since the beginning of the year.

This week, world oil prices increased by another 1% in the first trading session of the week (March 24). Oil prices in this session were supported by US President Donald Trump's announcement to impose a 25% tax on countries buying oil and gas from Venezuela.

Limiting oil prices’ gains this session was a decision by oil producer Chevron to extend its curbs on oil operations and exports from Venezuela to May 27, instead of 30 days from March 4.

World oil prices were almost flat in the trading session on March 25. Oil prices fluctuated slightly in this session as the maritime and energy ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine offset concerns about tighter global supplies after the US threatened to impose tariffs on countries buying Venezuelan products.

In the domestic market, according to plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance will adjust retail gasoline prices periodically tomorrow (March 27).
