(CLO) On March 3, at the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh organized the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition in the spring of At Ty 2025.
The Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition in the spring of At Ty 2025 will take place for 3 days (from March 2 to 4) at the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater, Viem Xa area, Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city (Bac Ninh).

The contest is held annually to further develop Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk songs with the motto "both national and modern".
This year's Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk song competition attracted the participation of 8 mass art troupes, 58 Quan Ho villages, with 580 typical artisans, actors, and musicians from localities in the province.
The contest consists of two parts: Quan Ho music stage competition and Quan Ho duet singing competition.
In the Quan Ho music stage competition, 8 mass art troupes performed a program in the form of solo singing; duets, trios; and group singing through Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs with ancient lyrics; songs with new lyrics based on Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs, songs with the sound of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs praising the glorious Party, great Uncle Ho, praising the historical and cultural traditions of the nation and the renovation process in the homeland and country.
In the Quan Ho duet singing competition, 100 male and female pairs from 58 original Quan Ho villages participated in the competition of singing 50 verses (65 pairs) and 150 ancient Quan Ho verses (35 pairs), demonstrating smooth, mellow tones in accordance with ancient customs with resonant, rumbling, background, and bouncy qualities. A new feature of this year's Quan Ho duet singing competition is that the participating pairs were selected through two preliminary rounds at the district and provincial levels.
Before the contest, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province directed specialized agencies to organize training courses to equip Quan Ho singers and Quan Ho clubs in the province with basic knowledge about the style, communication and behavior of Quan Ho people; skills in performing antiphonal singing, approaching ancient Quan Ho melodies, etc.
The contest is an opportunity for artisans, Lien Anh, Lien Chi, and typical cultural and artistic cores to meet, exchange, and learn experiences in practicing the folk heritage of Quan Ho Bac Ninh; continue to preserve, maintain, and constantly promote the value so that the folk heritage of Quan Ho Bac Ninh is passed on and spread, true to its inherent good meaning and identity.
At the same time, re-examine the quality of the movement and short-term and long-term plans in implementing commitments to UNESCO on heritage; build cultural tourism products associated with sustainable "green industry", develop the "soft power" of Vietnamese culture, contributing to enhancing the overall national strength in the coming time.
