Nearly 30 universities announced admission based on transcripts in 2025

(Dan Tri) - At this time, nearly 30 universities have announced that they will consider transcripts for admission in the 2025 admissions period. Some large universities consider transcripts but with conditions.


On February 4, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) announced its 2025 enrollment plan with many changes. In particular, the school will reserve about 20% of its enrollment quota based on high school academic results combined with interviews.

The latest announcement from the Vietnam Women's Academy said that in 2025, the Academy plans to enroll 1,765 students for 11 majors.

The Academy is expected to enroll students by 6 methods, in which the method of considering high school academic results (transcripts) will consider the results of 3 years of grades 10, 11, and 12. The early admission time by considering transcripts is expected to be from next May.

The combinations selected for admission are: A00, A01, C00, D01, D09, D14 and some more combinations may be added for each major after the official admission announcement.

On February 3, the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture announced that in 2025, it will consider grade 12 scores of three subjects according to a combination; combining grade 12 transcripts with international certificates.

According to the announcement of the University of Transport, admission will be based on the scores of 3 years of high school in three subjects according to the combination. In particular, the method of considering academic records and considering high school graduation exam scores allows candidates to use converted IELTS scores to replace English scores if admission is based on a combination with English.

Hanoi Law University plans to enroll about 2,650 students this year, an increase of about 150 students compared to last year.

The school plans to continue to consider admission based on the academic records of grades 10, 11, and 12 according to specific combinations for each major and consider converting international language certificates.

University of Commerce considers admission based on the high school academic results of candidates who have studied for 3 years (grades 10, 11, 12) at national specialized high schools/national key high schools, graduating in 2025 according to each subject group for admission.

Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 and Forestry University also plan to enroll students based on academic records.

According to the announcement of Foreign Trade University , with the admission method based on high school academic results (reviewing academic records), the school applies to 3 groups of subjects: Candidates who won national excellent student awards or national science and technology awards; students of specialized schools or national key high schools; non-specialized students who won first, second, and third prizes in provincial/city excellent student competitions.

For each group of candidates, candidates can choose to be admitted based on their high school academic results according to the subject combinations (average score of 6 semesters of 3 subjects) or combined with international language certificates, depending on the training program.

However, the school applies a number of conditions that candidates must meet in each group of subjects, such as a total score of 24 or higher in the 3 graduation exams; a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 and other equivalent certificates (if combined); 6 semesters of good academic performance and good conduct.

In 2025, FPT University will accept applications for scholarships, "Study now - pay later" program and admission applications from January 20.

In particular, this school also announced the admission scores for 2025. The admission scores for the school are based on two criteria: Candidates need to reach the top 50 schoolrank, which means being in the top 50% of students with the highest high school academic results nationwide; achieve a total score of 21 points or higher in math and any two subjects in the second semester of grade 12.

Hanoi University of Industry also considers the three-year high school scores of three subjects in the combination, but not independently like last year, but combines international certificates, excellent student awards, Hanoi National University's ability assessment test scores, or Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment.

This year, the University of Construction has 4 admission methods. In addition to direct admission and priority admission, the school considers high school transcripts, high school graduation exam scores and exam results organized by other universities.

Meanwhile, this year Thang Long University will consider the 3-year high school scores of three subjects according to the combination; combining the 3-year scores and the aptitude test scores.

Dai Nam University considers admission based on grade 11 and first semester grade 12 transcripts or grade 12 transcripts of three subjects in a combination.

According to Nha Trang University , this year the school will consider admission based on the scores of 3 years of high school in certain subjects combined with the scores of the competency assessment exam.

In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plans to eliminate the method of considering transcripts for 3 semesters (grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12) but still maintain the method of considering transcripts according to a combination of 3 subjects in grade 12.

Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City also plans to have 3 main admission methods, including a comprehensive admission method based on the high school academic scores of 6 semesters according to subject groups. Previously, this school only considered the scores of 3 semesters.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry in 2025 is expected to also consider admission based on the results of the transcript, which is the average score of 3 years of high school. At the main campus, admission is only considered for candidates who graduated from high school in 2025.

University of Finance - Marketing plans to enroll students by 6 methods, including considering academic records.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education plans to also consider admission based on high school transcripts for candidates graduating in 2025, calculated based on the average score of the 6-semester transcripts of each subject according to the combination.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance will also consider academic records in 2025. This is the first school to announce the 2025 scholarship consideration, with an average subject score of 7 or higher.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade plans to reserve about 15-20% of its enrollment quota for high school transcript-based admission in 2025.

Van Lang University, Van Hien University, Thanh Do University, Gia Dinh University, and Saigon International University all said they will recruit students based on high school transcripts but have not announced details.
