Tourists by sea and air flock to Da Nang

(NLDO) - On the first day of Tet, Da Nang City welcomed thousands of tourists to visit.

On January 29 (the first day of Tet), the Da Nang Department of Tourism welcomed more than 800 tourists on the Crystal Symphony cruise ship at Tien Sa Port. At the welcoming ceremony, there were lion dances, flowers and souvenirs for tourists.

Tourists on this cruise will visit famous destinations such as Linh Ung Son Tra Pagoda, Cham Sculpture Museum, and My Khe Beach in Da Nang City during the Lunar New Year 2025.

Foreign visitors are given conical hats when arriving in Da Nang on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

At Da Nang airport, the Department of Tourism also held a ceremony to welcome visitors. Here, the tourism industry gave away local specialties such as ginger jam, grilled coconut cake, sesame crackers... to visitors.

On the first day of Tet, Da Nang City welcomed more than 140 domestic and international flights, estimated at more than 20,000 passengers. Of which, the number of international flights is expected to be 65, estimated at 10,000 passengers.

Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that the activities to welcome visitors on the first day of the year aim to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for visitors.

In 2025, the city's tourism industry will continue to make breakthroughs to develop tourism with new and unique products to better serve tourists.

Da Nang Department of Tourism said the total number of visitors to Da Nang during the Lunar New Year is estimated at more than 456,000, an increase of 13.5% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach more than 221,000, an increase of 25% compared to the 2024 holiday, domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 235,000. The overall capacity of accommodation establishments is estimated to reach about 50%, of which 4-5 star and equivalent groups reach 60-65%.
