According to a report by the General Statistics Office - Ministry of Finance today (March 6), international visitors to Vietnam reached more than 3.96 million in the first two months of 2025, an increase of 30.2% over the same period last year.
With favorable visa policies, enhanced tourism promotion programs and prestigious tourism awards presented by international organizations, the number of international visitors to Vietnam continues to increase.
Vietnam welcomed nearly 4 million international visitors in the first two months of 2025.
In February 2025, international visitors to our country are estimated to reach nearly 1.9 million, up 23.7% over the same period last year. In the first two months of 2025, international visitors to Vietnam reached more than 3.96 million, up 30.2% over the same period last year.
Of which, arrivals by air reached nearly 3.4 million, accounting for 85.7% of international arrivals and increasing by 32.5% over the same period last year; by road reached 467.2 thousand arrivals, accounting for 11.8% and increasing by 20.2%; by sea reached 99.4 thousand arrivals, accounting for 2.5% and increasing by 9.6%.
China continued to be the largest market sending visitors with 956 thousand arrivals (accounting for 27.7%). South Korea ranked second, reaching 885 thousand arrivals. These two markets had an outstanding number of arrivals, contributing 46% of the total number of visitors to Vietnam. Next was Taiwan in third place (218 thousand arrivals), the US in fourth place (180 thousand arrivals).
The 10 largest markets for Vietnamese tourism also include Japan (147 thousand arrivals), Cambodia (142 thousand arrivals), Australia (105 thousand arrivals), Malaysia (103 thousand arrivals), and India (92 thousand arrivals). Notably, the Russian tourist market (79 thousand arrivals) has returned to the Top 10 markets sending the most visitors to Vietnam.

In terms of growth momentum, the Chinese market led (+77.8%), while other markets increased steadily: South Korea (+4.9%), Taiwan (+10.1%), the US (+15.7%), and Japan (+37.3%).
Nearby markets in Southeast Asia grew well, including Malaysia (+12.5%), Cambodia (+79.6%), Philippines (+99.8%), Indonesia (+18.5%), Thailand (+93.2%). The Singapore market alone decreased by 8.2%.
Potential markets in India are expected to grow by 16.3% and Australia by 7.6% year-on-year in 2024.
Markets in Europe continued to grow impressively, especially markets enjoying unilateral visa exemption policies such as: UK (+24.1%), France (+30.2%), Germany (+26.7%), Italy (+31.5%), Spain (+19.9%), Russia (+104.3%), Denmark (+20.9%), Sweden (+21.8%), Norway (+21.4%).
In addition, the Polish and Swiss markets also recorded an increase in the number of visitors, up 54.2% and 14.2% respectively compared to the same period in 2024. The Government has issued Resolution 11/NQ-CP on short-term visa exemption for Polish, Czech and Swiss citizens from March 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025 under the 2025 Tourism Development Stimulus Program. This policy is expected to create momentum to attract more visitors from these three European markets in 2025.
At the end of February, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued the Tourism Stimulus Program for 2025 with the theme Vietnam - Travel to Love. The program aims to implement Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP of the Government on visa exemption under the Tourism Stimulus Program for 2025 for citizens of the following countries: Poland, the Czech Republic and the Swiss Confederation.
The program contributes to the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors and serving 120-130 million domestic visitors in Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP of the Government on the growth target of industries, sectors and localities; creating momentum for growth in the following years, meeting the requirements of accelerated and breakthrough development of the tourism industry in line with the development roadmap of the economy in the era of national development. Enhance the experience for tourists through rich, diverse and quality tourism programs.
