On the afternoon of April 15, comrade Truong Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation attended the Meeting Program with Dien Bien soldiers (CSDB), Youth Volunteers (TNXP), and Fireline Workers (DCHT) on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); visited and presented gifts to express gratitude to CSDB, DCHT and families of martyrs who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign living in Phu Ly city. Also attending were representatives of a number of functional departments, branches, and local authorities.
At the meeting, delegates and former CSDB, TNXP, and DCHT who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign reviewed the historical tradition of the revolutionary struggle of the entire Party, people, and army in the resistance war against the French in general and the Dien Bien Phu campaign in particular.
The Commemorative Speech affirmed: 70 years ago, under the leadership of the Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, our army and people achieved the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the earth", successfully ending the 9-year long resistance war against the invading French colonialists.
That great victory originated from the glorious historical tradition of the nation, with the great contribution of the army and people of Ha Nam province, especially the contribution and sacrifice of former CSDB, TNXP, DCHT, who directly participated in the fighting, supporting the Dien Bien Phu campaign to success.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Truong Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, on behalf of the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of the Special Forces, Youth Volunteers, and Volunteers in the Dien Bien Phu campaign. Currently, in Phu Ly city, there are still 52 Special Forces, Youth Volunteers, and Volunteers who participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign who are still alive, but they are old and in poor health. He hopes that the Special Forces, Youth Volunteers, and Volunteers will overcome difficulties and illnesses, live happily and healthily with their families and children, and be a spiritual support for the younger generations to strive, learn, and follow.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Over the past years, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee have always paid attention to leading and directing all levels, sectors, and localities to effectively implement gratitude movements and social security policies for war invalids, martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions with many specific and practical activities, which have received enthusiastic response and participation from the whole society, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, enhancing patriotism, and arousing and fostering profound humanistic values.
With the fine tradition of the nation, implementing the moral principles of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", right after the meeting, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with the Provincial Military Command and the Provincial Red Cross to organize health check-ups and consultations for the soldiers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Also on the afternoon of April 15, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation of the province and Phu Ly City visited the family of martyr Nguyen Van Nhat, Liem Chinh Ward; Ms. Nguyen Thi My - a frontline laborer in Liem Chinh Ward; Mr. Do Van Ly, a Dien Bien soldier in Chau Son Commune; Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Le Hong Phong Ward - a Dien Bien soldier.
With deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the Dien Bien soldiers and their families, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee kindly visited them and their families, wishing them continued good health, overcoming the difficulties, injuries, and illnesses of old age, and living happily and healthily with their children and grandchildren.
Comrade Truong Quoc Huy, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee, presented gifts to the beneficiaries to express the gratitude of the Party Committee, government, army and people in the province for the contributions of Dien Bien soldiers and their families; hoping that they and their families will continue to promote the fine tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", remind and educate the younger generation about patriotism, sense of responsibility for the homeland, worthily continuing the glorious tradition of their ancestors, and joining hands to build the homeland.
Representatives of the families thanked the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, comrades in the provincial and city leadership delegations who visited, presented gifts and encouraged the families; Affirming that although daily life still has many difficulties, with the spirit of not being afraid of difficulties, the Dien Bien soldiers of the past will continue to overcome difficulties, live a useful life, set an example for the younger generation to follow, continue to contribute their efforts and intelligence to build and develop their homeland Ha Nam to develop quickly and sustainably.
