The two semi-final matches of the National U9 Tournament took place on the afternoon of August 23 at Gia Lai Provincial Sports Stadium with the victory going to Gia Bao Hai Duong and SLNA teams from different scores.
The U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong players had to face their strongest opponent since the beginning of the tournament, U9 Ho Chi Minh City, but they still approached the match very well with an aggressive attacking style. Under great pressure from the representative from Hai Duong, the young players of Ho Chi Minh City played bravely. Not only that, they also created many opportunities towards the opponent's goal.
However, the excellence of goalkeeper Khanh An became a solid support for Hai Duong players. This goalkeeper discouraged the strikers on the opposing side. Meanwhile, U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong showed the ability to take advantage of opportunities much better than their opponents. In the first half alone, they had 2 goals to take the lead thanks to Minh Duc.
This was an excellent match for No. 10, who also raised the score to 3-0 at the beginning of the second half. The U9 HCMC team tried to push up their formation to play offensively, but that was also the time when their defense revealed gaps. In the final minutes of the match, Duc Tien and Khanh An had 2 successful shots, sealing a resounding 5-0 victory for U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong.
Their opponents in the final will be U9 SLNA - who had a dramatic victory over U9 Hanoi Football Club. The defending champions from the capital were doused with cold water with 2 early goals, including 1 own goal.
At the end of the first half, U9 Hanoi Football Club scored 1 goal after a header by Trong Dai. With this goal to shorten the gap, the match became more tense than ever. U9 Hanoi Football Club was the better team in the second half with many opportunities created. However, goalkeeper Phuc Cuong played brilliantly to keep a clean sheet.
Despite many attacks but no goals, U9 Hanoi Football Club had to accept the cruel rules of football. At the end of the second half, they completely collapsed when Uy Vu and Khai Phong scored 2 goals to set the score at 4-1 for the second semi-final match.
With the U9 Hanoi Football Club stopping at the semi-finals, this year's tournament will see a new champion crowned. The closing ceremony - The final match of the tournament will take place at 2:00 p.m. on August 25 at the Provincial Sports Stadium.
