Van Hau posted a photo with Doan Hai My with a heart-shaped flower and a pink heart-shaped cake with the words "She said Yes" printed on it. More specifically, Hai My wore a ring on her ring finger, as a way to announce that she accepted the proposal of the defender of the Vietnamese national team.
After a long time together, the couple decided to get married. August 15th was the 3rd anniversary of Van Hau's relationship with Hai My. The two held a celebration at a restaurant in Hanoi. Hai My expressed her happiness when receiving roses and gifts from her lover.

Van Hau and Hai My are one of the most beautiful couples in Vietnamese football. Their relationship is enthusiastically supported by family, friends and fans. Hai My once commented that she feels peaceful when she is with Van Hau. Meanwhile, the defender of the Hanoi Police Club is fascinated by his girlfriend's gentleness and responsibility.
Van Hau once took Hai My back to his hometown Thai Binh. She did not hesitate to help Van Hau's parents with the housework in the kitchen. The two also traveled together with their parents.
